HOPE is Homeless. Hope is an unexpected hand for a stranger. Home is not just a roof, home is a place where you feel comfortable and secure. Once you help yourself you can help others. Help is growing. To get out one person of the streets in 6-12 months, it gets 30 people to meet one hour/week to stranger that they don’t know. Some people get out of the streets because of the government helps, but they need a job. Is where #HomelessEntrepreneur is focus. Is not just putting a roof over their heads, is about giving them the #opportunity of being active citizens, turning availabilities into assets, turning donations into deposits, that they may give back to other people to get off the streets. Housing first is a great way to be able to focus on their lives, but they need a job. 35% of the them are #homeless because the lost their jobs. #Hope is working, getting off the streets and being able to get involved in the society. Talent can change our/their lives. Yesterday our friend Andrew Funk started #thegreatwalk. A Fundraising Campaign to raise awareness & end global homelessness. “The Great Walk,” is a 150 km walk to give a voice and presence to the 150 million homeless individuals worldwide: Every kilometer they walk represents 1 million people made of potential experiencing homelessness. The upcoming Great Walk will culminate in a sleep out, coinciding with the XXXIII Olympic Summer Games in Paris, France. Their aim is to inspire individuals affected by homelessness and their future support network through their commitment to ending homelessness, so they can connect the two groups faster and ultimately speed up the process of ending their state of homelessness. Hope is an unexpected hand for a stranger. https://lnkd.in/dcFqykU2

Standing in Solidarity: A Call to Action for the Homeless Population and Sacred Sites in Los Angeles For the second night in a row, I slept on the ground at the Hollywood Cross—not out of necessity, but in solidarity with the homeless community in Los Angeles. This ongoing protest is my way of shedding light on a deeply troubling issue: organizations meant to support the homeless are failing, while taxpayer money lines the pockets of those who oversee these initiatives. Instead of true solutions, we see resources funneled into bureaucracies, maintaining the status quo while the unhoused continue to suffer. I’ve personally sent initiatives to the Governor’s office that could offer real solutions—yet the lack of action speaks volumes. We need our leaders to stop ignoring the growing crisis on our streets and support real solutions that uplift our homeless population. In addition to this, I continue to protest the encroachment of residences near the Hollywood Cross and the Philharmonic's actions in blocking access to the religious monument, desecrating Aztec burial mounds and pyramidal ceremonial structures. These sacred sites, central to Native American and Aztec heritage, are under threat, and the ongoing destruction of these spaces must be stopped. This protest is not just about homelessness; it’s about protecting our cultural heritage and standing against injustice at every level. I invite you to stand with me—whether in person or in spirit—and raise your voice for the thousands of Angelenos who deserve better and for the preservation of sacred sites that hold deep cultural and spiritual significance. Together, we can push for real change—ensuring that every dollar is spent on solutions, not salaries, and that sacred spaces are protected from desecration. #Homelessness #CulturalHeritage #SacredSites #SocialJustice #ProtestForChange #LosAngeles #HomelessRights #Accountability #PublicFundsForPublicGood #StandUpForTheVoiceless #ProtectSacredLand 😖

🏠💚 At HOME, we believe in the power of unity. A system that works together, focusing on the individual needs of each person, is crucial to our mission of sustainably ending homelessness. In 2023, we enhanced our collaborative efforts with community partners through joint education and training sessions. 🤝🏾 📚 We've also implemented a new system that allows for rapid and coordinated responses, ensuring that people in crisis receive the help they need promptly and efficiently. 🚀 🆘 Together, we are making strides towards ending homelessness for good. Want to see the impact of our efforts? Check out our 2023 Annual Report: https://buff.ly/3Vm4B17 📄 👀 #EndHomelessness #CommunityPartnership #AnnualReport2023

In a landscape characterized by disconnection and isolation, partnership and collaboration are what drive successful outcomes.
This week, we got the call: DESC had beds open at The Gateway Emergency Shelter and could we help fill them? We immediately connected with Aurora Commons, another community partner, and between their clients and ours we were able to get 9 people off the streets of North Seattle in less than 36 hours. LCP's integrated partnership approach continues to benefit the wider landscape of homelessness service providers, and our clients are the ones who benefit most of all with speedier and more integrated service offerings. Thank you, DESC (Downtown Emergency Service Center) and Aurora Commons for your fast-acting work, and commitment to collaborative, community partnerships. #community #homelesslivesmatter

Good advice on bumblebees habitats... 🌼 keep some long grass for ground nesting bees. 🌼fill a birdbox with dry material such as laves and dead grasses for those that like nesting up high. 🌼 keep areas of your border undisturbed for those that like nesting in the ground.
Bumblebee queens are on a mission to find somewhere to nest – and they urgently need your help 👑 #BeeTheChange this spring by providing nest sites for homeless bumblebees 🐝 Discover how you can help 👉 https://ow.ly/T1SM50QOBwm

President's Post: In the words of Michael Block, the CEO of All Roads (formerly the Boulder Shelter for the Homeless), "Fighting homelessness can sometimes seem like pushing a big rock up a steep hill. So when there’s good news, it’s great to point it out and build on it." And this is some positive progress to report: https://lnkd.in/gfvYZXtG. The Boulder Chamber's partnership with All Roads in support of the Day Service Center and in creating housing options, like the Bluebird permanent supportive building, are elements of the progress we can make through collaborative efforts to meet the needs of our unhoused population and to address the business and community impacts of homelessness. Let's keep pushing forward!

On Wednesday, February 7th, the Red Oak DEI Action Committee hosted a special screening of the documentary, A Rising Tide. The film reveals, through the eyes of children and their families, the survival strategies they are forced to endure while struggling with homelessness in Alameda County. The film also shares the work and the challenges faced by local service providers, shedding light on the “helping industry” that has developed from the housing crisis here in the East Bay.
