The single most critical factor in determining your success or failure in any role is your direct supervisor. Their support—or lack thereof—makes all the difference. Either they have your back, or they don't. My best advice is seek out a manager who makes you feel good about yourself and your performance....because it will make you want to do your best work. A mediocre manager can SINK your career faster than the Titanic. But a great one? They're your career rocket fuel. 🔥 Here's why elite managers are worth their weight in gold: 1️⃣ They see your potential (even when you don't) 2️⃣ They challenge you to level up daily 3️⃣ They've got your back when it counts 4️⃣ They're masters at removing roadblocks 5️⃣ They inspire you to bring your A-game, every day Great managers don't just manage. They catalyze greatness. They also drive results. We've all had sh*itty managers. Are you settling for less? Or are you lucky enough to have a manager you trust, who's changing the game? Drop a 🙌 below if you've got a manager worth bragging about! #Leadership #Career #Sales #Management

A manager who had trust in me, A manager who never doubted me, A manager who advised me, A manager who encouraged me, A manager who never micro-managed me, In my previous role, I was fortunate to have a fantastic manager, Even as challenges arose around us, his leadership remained strong. He remained a constant source of inspiration, adapting to changes with grace and determination. Before you pursue your next career, ask the question to your future manager: Q1) How would you describe your management style? Q2) What are some of the company's core values, and how do they translate into day-to-day operations? #manager #Jobs #sales

After more than 15 years as an Executive Assistant, I’ve always prided myself on being the behind-the-scenes powerhouse that keeps things running smoothly. But as many EAs can attest, there’s often a limit to how we are seen: organised, efficient, indispensable—but confined to the “EA Box”. This experience has reminded me just how many transferable skills we EAs possess: 💼 Problem-solving in fast-paced environments 🤝 Relationship management across teams and leadership levels 📊 Mastering processes, strategy, and implementation ⚡ Staying five steps ahead in planning and execution To my fellow EAs: Don’t let your job title define you. Your experience makes you more than capable of stepping into new roles when the opportunity arises. You have the potential to lead. To leaders and bosses: Take a closer look at your EAs. They’re already managing so much more than calendars—they are skilled business partners with invaluable insights. #GrowthJourney #Leadership #ExectutiveAssistants #BusinessOperations #TransferableSkills #CareerGrowth #Empowerment #Teamwork

"I NEVER WANT YOUR JOB!" Before you start your transition into management, ensure you're clear about what you're walking into. 🤯 I was talking with a manager who had a salesperson on their team that wanted a promotion. After shadowing their manager for just one day, they told their manager, “After watching you, I never want to be a manager!” Many salespeople envision a management as a position of power, the chance to delegate what they don’t want to be doing, solve the problems for their team and make more money. 😂 They assume they know the role, responsibilities and what it means to be a manager. Here are some questions to facilitate a coaching conversation to help the person reflect and realize whether this is what they really want, or they're being seduced by the ether of management. 1. Why do you want to be a manager? 2. What are the benefits of becoming a manager? 3. What are the responsibilities of a manager? 4. What challenges might you be faced with? 5. What would a typical day look like? 6. What assumptions might you be making about a management role? 7. What additional skills, training and knowledge do you need to be an effective manager? 8. What might you have to sacrifice if you become a manager as opposed to an independent contributor? 🌟What questions would you ask? #salesmanagement #leadership #career

Empowering High Achievers To Break Through to Executive Roles | Executive Career Coach | 2x VP Marketing | Ex Google, Microsoft | Best-Selling Author
How to land a promotion despite having NO support from your manager: (The secret no one talks about) You may have been vocal about a promotion, even asked your manager for support... And yet, all you hear is "we'll see". Sometimes it's because your manager is inexperienced. It might be that your manager is insecure. Or they might just be busy. But that's no reason for you to put your career on hold. The last thing you want is have one point of failure in your career - a.k.a. only relying on your manager for a promotion. This is a best practice whether you have a supportive manager or not. Because even a supportive manager can leave, or change roles. So what's the secret? Find super sponsors. Super sponsors are senior leaders 2-3 levels above you. They have a broader view of the org, more power and can easily influence your promotion decision. Connecting with these influential leaders is the best way to create leverage. It's like having your personal fairy god mother. But here's the best part: Most people are afraid of approaching these senior leaders. Which means more opportunities for you to engage with them. In an ideal world your manager should drive your promotion. But if that doesn't happen, you have options. This is how you work smarter, not harder. P.S. Have you ever had a super sponsor? *** Hey, I'm Maya! Former VP turned career coach. Follow along for advice on leveling up into #executive roles on your terms.
