There is a new player in the pharma venture landscape: Regeneron. Regeneron has long stood at the forefront of innovation in biotechnology, developing targeted immunotherapies and revolutionizing treatments for rare diseases. With the establishment of their venture arm, it is set to join its larger peers in the pharma space – GSK, Novartis, and BMS among them – in developing an in-house venture arm with $500 million in committed capital. Large scale venture deals in the small molecule drug space are not a thing of the past. The pipeline has slowly heated up, despite the relative cooldown in the size and number of recent IPOs.
