📣 Circular Plastics Fund’s 6th investment 📣 Infinity Recycling is excited to announce its investment in BioBTX, the sixth investment from its Circular Plastics Fund. 🚀 BioBTX’s unique and proven solution enables the production of renewable aromatics (BTX) from residual plastic waste and biomass thereby spearheading the transition to a green and circular chemical industry. ♻ Aromatics are essential for the production of every-day products like insulation foams, coatings, PET bottles, batteries, and pharmaceuticals. The commercial plant our anchor investment will help build, enables the company to offer a virgin quality, sustainable alternative to fossil-based resources. 🌲 In a plastics market characterised by significant downward pricing pressures, as a result of an influx of cheap plastics from the USA and Asia, the quality of the recycled product is of paramount importance. Excellent example again of replacing fossil with biobased alternative. Here industrial sugar is feedstock for this product. Further improvement can be done is previous step in value chain by having new non-food lignocellulosic feedstock to produce sugars. Luckily there also are new alternatives. With fractionation technologies like we have in Chempolis Ltd. , we can produce sugars using feedstock like wheat straws and many others. And in addition to sugars we get valuable sulfur-free lignin and other biochemicals. This means that our material efficiency from feedstock to high value biomaterials is high. #fractionation #chempolis #bio2x #organosolv
