🌿 World Environment Day 2024: #Sustainability in focus On June 5, 2024, we will celebrate this global event to reflect on sustainability, #environmentalprotection and the careful use of our resources. For HARTING, it's not just green words that count, but above all to act green. In 2022, we were one of the first companies in the region to employ a Sustainability-Controller, Nadine Frank, and anchored the topic at an international level. 💡 We want to consistently reduce our ecological footprint and are already realizing this plan very successfully: By using biomethane and renewable electricity, we have managed to reduce CO2 emissions by 92 percent since 2011. 🌍 #WorldEnvironmentDay reminds us that we are all part of a global community. It's World Environment Day! So what does that actually mean? Maya Derrick has written a great piece for Sustainability Magazine & Energy Digital Magazine today ⬇   “It is undeniable – the climate crisis is urgent. Now, with the estimated cost of the crisis between US$1.7 trillion and US$3.1 trillion per year by 2050, decarbonisation must be at the top of our agendas.," says Kelly Becker, President UK & Ireland at Schneider Electric.    “But, there’s already plenty to be optimistic about this World Environment Day. For example, businesses are realising the tangible benefits to the environment and to business growth. By adopting smart technologies, monitoring energy usage, and investing in renewables, businesses not only improve efficiency but also positively impact the environment and local communities.      “In addition, it can also unlock major economic growth as well as job creation. Our research suggests 247,000 jobs could be created in the UK by businesses adopting clean energy technologies.
