Imagine struggling with your #MentalHealth and knowing, that in order to get better, therapy would be a huge help. Then imagine knowing that you cannot afford to access therapy, so worrying how you will get better. For many Art Psychotherapy and Counselling is out of reach due to the costs involved. That is why at Mothers for Mothers - Bristol North Somerset South Glos we provide our support services free of charge to those who need them. However this doesn’t mean they do not cost #MothersForMothers to provide them. We often get donations from women who have used our Art Psychotherapy and Counselling as a way of giving back to Mothers for Mothers. That is why we have set up a fundraising page for this service as part of our lead up to GivingTuesday. If you have used our service in the past, or know from experience how valuable it is please consider making a donation, however large or small (link to the page is in the comments). Every amount we receive will help to continue this service. #GivingTuesday #MaternalMentalHealth

"Why Didn't You Get an Invite? Wasn't $500 enough?" I am trying to teach my children a lesson in small but mighty and that even small things we do every day with the donation of our time, what we can afford, etc., can still have an impact. Recently, there was an event we were not invited to because we didn't donate "enough" money, and the kids were in earshot when we were chatting with friends about it. I donated $500, but the donation criteria was $1000 for an "invite." That wasn't the point; we likely wouldn't have gone anyway, but my children asked the question that stemmed from the conversation "Why wasn't that enough?" Well, they can't invite everyone...so my response was that we do what we can when we can, cook for the homeless, help our neighbors, volunteer at school, serve the needy, and donate in other ways. Their school motto is that "many hands do light work," so I am trying to show them with just a $5 donation from each person and a share, we could watch and see how our simple "small" act could make a bigger impact. So, we will see our impact in teaching this lesson this lenten season. How can you help? By donating just $5 {because that's the least we could do here} and sharing this message of small but meaningful impacts. Help me show my littles what everyone can do when we come together. All proceeds go directly to the Precious Dreams Foundation, a charity I have worked with here at Tiny Transitions, which has such an impact on children who are homeless or in foster care. https://gofund.me/7f108384 #communityimpact #mompreneurs #leadership #leadbyexample #preciousdreams Nicole Russell

I’ll be in silence, limiting communication to work-related emails. My focus will be on creating content and training. During this time, I won’t engage in conversations with FBS staff, clients, family, or anyone else. Why? To empathise with the experience of adults in domestic abuse situations—having a voice but being unable to use it. Two days is a mere fraction of what they endure daily. Previous challenges showed Day 1 as tolerable, but Day 2 brought feelings of isolation and frustration, where I almost vanished from others’ awareness. I’m fundraising to sustain support for families in similar situations, offering crucial therapy for those deeply affected. Join me in making a meaningful change. When I know what I need and want, I’ll also understand the things I can’t do for myself. When I lean on the collective, knowing what I am asking those around me to help me with, I also understand what I can offer back to the collective. Liberatory self-care is about understanding what I need and then understanding how to get what I need while offering others what they need. Ultimately, what we all need is to get free. If you have benefited from my offerings, please consider offering a donation as an act of reciprocity in ensuring the continuation of the work of me and my team. Your generosity and reciprocity is what enables all of us to resource each other in healing ourselves and getting free. Your generosity is an act of community care that I deeply cherish. Donate here: https://lnkd.in/ePsDpuxM #lamarod #reciprocity #work #werk #donate #selfcare #collectivecare #liberation

Free and localised mental health support from healthcare professionals is a rare thing. Most of my generation rely on apps and the internet. Piecing together diagnoses from wellbeing articles, Google searches, questionnaires, podcasts and therapy delivered in 60-second form. Now that's not to say I don't love a day spent sifting for gold in the algorithm. I just figure it'd probably be better if I could talk to someone about it. And if that support had been available to me at a young age. YPCS - Young People's Counselling Service is a charity that delivers just this for children and young people across Cambridgeshire between 11 and 18. Free and localised mental health support, delivered by healthcare professionals in the community. More than 800 young people were supported by the charity last year - with a lot of its work being carried out in rural communities like Yaxley, Wisbech and across Fenland, as well as Peterborough. Today, YPCS is fundraising to keep its doors open. As awareness of mental health and demand for mental health provision both soar, those facilities that already exist are struggling. As a trustee, I would love to spend time understanding how that is, but the most pressing issue right now is keeping this vital local resource open to its community. So can you help us? The quick and kind ways are by donating to our cause (https://lnkd.in/ey2q_4Zw) and sharing this message! But beyond this, if you know of any funders or funding currently available, or if your business is seeking a charity to support this year, drop me a message! #saveypcs #mentalhealth #charityfundraising #cambridgeshire
What a milestone! We have now reached - and surpassed - 50 donations to our #SaveYPCS campaign. We would like to thank all of our incredible supporters for their belief in and commitment to both the charity and the young people it serves. However, we are still to reach our goal and ensure we can keep our vital mental health services open for those who need them. Last year we provided nearly 350 young people with therapy and counselling. How many more could we support this year, and beyond, with your help? If you are able, please consider donating to our JustGiving page: https://lnkd.in/e6BUGJ3E If you would like to fundraise for us, or have a story or an idea you'd like to share to fuel our campaign, please contact us at saveypcs@ypcs.uk.

Yesterday was National Random Acts of Kindness Day, but that doesn't mean you can't start today! It doesn't have to be anything big, just one small Act of Random Kindness (ARK) can make a difference. You can decide what would make someone feel good today and maybe they will continue to pass it on. Sometimes, small changes that you make in your life can lead to a very big change in the life of someone else. Here are a few ideas to get you started: Pay for the coffee of the person behind you in line. Leave a positive note for someone to find. Volunteer your time & make a donation to a local non profit. I happen to know one: North Carolina AIDS Action Network😎 Compliment someone you don't know. Hold the door open for someone. Let someone merge in front of you in traffic. In case you missed it: Make a donation to a non profit (https://lnkd.in/ef2_DaeW) Even the smallest donation or act of kindness can make a big difference in someone's day. Today is the perfect opportunity to build your ARK and help make the world a better place. #ARK #ActOfRandomKindness #bekind #randomactofkindness #ncaan #NCAIDSActionNetwork
