Two powerful questions to ask when pricing a creative work: 👉 Why? 👉 Why is that important? Asking “WHY are we doing this?” helps you stop, listen, and understand. This flushes the real answers out. 👉 “My competitor is doing it.” 👉 “We need to sell more.” 👉 “We need to hit sales targets.” 👉 “We’re aligning brands.” 👉 “We’re preparing to sell the company.” These answers uncover the value. But the real power comes with the second question: “WHY is that important?” This digs deeper: 👉 “We’ll lose market share.” 👉 “We won’t hit targets.” 👉 “Shareholders won’t be happy.” It’s about getting to the heart of the problem . Knowing what to do is Expected. Knowing why it matters CHANGES EVERYTHING!!! - Center your proposal around the value you will deliver. - Paint a picture of how you will solve the problem and how long it will take. - And price accordingly.
