Last 4th and 5th September, LINKS kicked-off in Krusenberg (Uppsala), Sweden, the European project PERSIMMON , hosted by Uppsala University under the leadership of the brilliant Project Coordinator Klas Hjort. PERSIMMON (PERSONALIZED SUSTAINABLE SMART PATCH OMNIFICENCE) aims to perform advance personalized cardiac monitoring with a focus not only on sustainability and circularity through the use of biodegradable materials, but also on user comfort. Indeed, our colleagues Debora Beneduce and Guido Pagana showcased the crucial role LINKS will play in addressing challenges related to motion anomalies in monitoring core body temperature and blood pressure. This will be achieved through the use of thin, slim, soft, stretchable, and compliant sensor patches, which leverage edge-AI for data transmission. It was an inspiring meeting, full of discussions that bode well for the results we will achieve together with this creative Consortium.
