A year and a half ago, I found myself at a crossroad. I had a dream but was too scared to start, wondering if I could really make it. My goal felt impossible: to build a big enough audience so that I could empower underrepresented voices in the tech industry Everywhere I looked—newsletters, social media, private founder/VC events—success stories were mostly well-established founders and investors managing millions. With less than 20% of tech influencers being women, and as a single mom and woman of color, I didn’t see myself represented and lacked a massive network. I kept asking, "Is there any room for someone like me?" But waiting wouldn’t create the change I wanted. So, I took the leap. With 2,000 followers and a big dream, I set out to amplify underrepresented voices in tech. I grew Women Founders Bay into the largest community of female tech founders in the Bay Area, supporting 500+ startups. I also launched the Founders Bay Newsletter (newsletter.foundersbay.com), now a community of 32,000 subscribers and 16,000 LinkedIn followers. Together, we’re reshaping tech—promoting diversity, celebrating women founders, and revealing hidden opportunities. So, I ask you: What’s your impossible? Your circumstances don’t define you—they prepare you. Whatever your goal—launching a product, writing your first post, or growing your community—don’t wait. Start now. The world needs your voice. When you start, you don’t just change your life—you change the world. 💪✨ #WomenInTech #Entrepreneurship #DiversityInTech #StartupCommunity #Empowerment #Leadership #InvestInWomen --- ✉️ Subscribe: https://lnkd.in/gnY9gUnq 📅 Join one of our events -> https://lu.ma/fb-events

Why are women targeting the wrong market with their startups? Too many female entrepreneurs go for saturated markets. Trust me, being a small fish in a big pond is exhausting. Here's the deal: 🔹 Find Untapped Niches: Look where others aren't. 🔹 Stand Out: Unique solutions gain attention. 🔹 Less Competition: More room for growth. I learned this at Fe/male Switch: We initially aimed for the crowded tech space. Big mistake. Pivoting to women-first startup gaming helped us carve a niche and thrive. Think outside the box: 🔍 Research underserved demographics. 💼 Identify gaps in existing markets. ✨ Develop tailored solutions for specific needs. Example: Spanx founder, Sara Blakely, turned an overlooked product category into a billion-dollar empire. No more swimming with the sharks. Do you feel you're targeting the right market? P.S. Ever pitched an idea while wearing cozy socks? It's my secret to staying chill and creative. Check the socks in the reel.

I love it 💃 🚀 I think it's important to spotlight female role models to inspire more women in tech! In 2023, women held 26.7% of tech jobs, up from 19% in 2019. Yet only 14% of tech leaders are women, and representation is even lower for CTOs and engineering heads. #WomenInTech #DiversityInLeadership #FemaleFounders #TechLeadership

Too many founders bury their vision. And wonder why their team seems lost. Matthijs Welle, CEO of Mews, doesn’t keep his mission behind closed doors. He’s publicly sharing it on LinkedIn, so his remote team of 1,200 knows exactly what they’re working toward. The result? An aligned team, fueled passion, and $110 million raised to scale. So why are so many founders mumbling their vision in quarterly meetings, while their teams are left guessing? The founders who scale fast and inspire loyalty are the ones who make their vision a part of their story. Three brands that did just that: 𝗔𝗶𝗿𝗯𝗻𝗯: Brian Chesky and Joe Gebbia didn’t hide their struggle to pay rent; that raw need became Airbnb’s mission to offer affordable stays. 𝗪𝗮𝗿𝗯𝘆 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝗸𝗲𝗿: Co-founder Dave Gilboa turned the pain of losing his glasses into a mission to make eyewear affordable for all. 𝗦𝗽𝗮𝗻𝘅: Sara Blakely’s moment of cutting pantyhose evolved into a brand dedicated to empowering women with practical solutions. ➡️ Your story is rockefuel for your vision. Don’t just share it behind closed doors. Show your team, your customers, and your market why they should believe in it. 𝗣𝗦: We will chat with Matthijs this Thursday to learn more how he uses LinkedIn to live Mews' values online. Join us and get inspired (I'm really excited about this one...) 𝗪𝗵𝗲𝗻? This Thursday at 2pm UK time. 𝗝𝗼𝗶𝗻 𝘂𝘀 𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲: https://lnkd.in/e8X5Wzep
