ROI is a Y2K idea… I’m an advocate of Marketing Automation being ruled by the CIO. When that time arrives, Adobe Marketo would be a crucial investment “because the CIO said so” If you ask an IT department when was the last time they did an email ROI business case it must have been when Google launched Gmail and needed a way to eat Microsoft’s Exchange market (April 2004). Marketing can’t achieve the productivity needed to multiply sales results at the expected speed without a MAP.
