I started in a tier 3 city in the third world, the struggle just to get into the US of A was 10 years long. Then another 3 to become a citizen. Then all the challenges of getting accepted in the american economy and society. But I feel grateful every day being the US citizen and raising my children , born in the USA, reminding them how lucky they are. Them being born in America is the best gift I have given them. But like most american kids they don’t realize how amazing it is to be born in the USA. I hope I will make them realize it some how in a possitive way!
I have lived and traveled all over the world, to include countries that were dictatorships and other types of rule very opposite of a democratic model. I count my blessings every day that I was born in the USA. So many people take their freedoms and liberties for granted because they have not seen first hand what it is like to live in or be from a country that doesn't have all the luxuries we have. There is a lot to be grateful for and especially celebrate today.
I have never looked at the 4th from this perspective, I love it. Ironic that I did take this day to work on career goals. Great post!
