I help transform student outcomes and attendance with in-person, incentivized high-impact tutoring programs.
Without attendance, you don't have a tutoring program. So how to get students to attend? We need more than a Field of Dreams. We need incentives. From the brief, "How to Build It and Ensure They Will Come": "Incentivizing attendance is one way to build excitement about tutoring...Some tutors described using their own money to purchase gift cards as rewards; others noted that the tutoring vendors or the school provided small rewards or incentives. 𝗣𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗽𝗮𝗹𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗰𝗼𝗼𝗿𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘀 𝗺𝗮𝘆 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝗮𝗱𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘀𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗿 𝘁𝘂𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗯𝘂𝗱𝗴𝗲𝘁𝘀 and giving tutors a stipend to purchase the type of incentives or prizes they think would work best." (bold mine) I agree with the above but let's take out the "may." Principals and coordinators, add incentives to those tutoring budgets -- then watch your attendance grow week after week. The results will follow. Oh, and gamifying the curriculum works pretty well, too! 🎯 #tutoring #highimpacttutoring #highdosagetutoring #incentives #gamification #afterschool

High-dosage tutoring has been shown to significantly improve student achievement—but most districts still aren’t offering it. According to data collected by The School Pulse Panel from over 1,000 public K12 schools, only 37% of schools offer high-dosage tutoring and only 11% of students participate in high-dosage tutoring. 59% of schools offer less intensive tutoring provided by educators. But recent National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP, The Nation's Report Card) scores suggest a vast majority of students are still below proficient in reading and math. Get ahead of the curve by offering high-dosage tutoring in your district. It’s a research-backed approach proven to successfully address learning loss.
