Great to be part of the Silicon Valley High Dosage Tutoring Summit, hosted by Bay Area Tutoring Association! We had powerful discussions about expanding high dosage tutoring to the students who need it most (and heard from parent advocates who are leading change in their communities). Exciting to hear from San Jose's Mayor on the city's commitment to fund this important work. Always great to see my colleagues Christopher T. Norwood, José Magaña, Brittany Miller, PhD, Susanna Loeb and so many others.

We are grateful for our collaboration with Miami-Dade County Public Schools (M-DCPS) and One On One Learning to kick off a successful year of tutoring with teachers.    Last week, members of our University of Chicago Education Lab team visited M-DCPS to work with educators who will participate in the Personalized Learning Initiative during the 2024-25 school year.   The Education Lab team shared how tutoring will be implemented in the district and teachers took on the role of students to learn how to deliver tutoring in their own classrooms.   A special thank you to Griffin Catalyst for their generous support of this partnership, to Gerald Darby and Michelle White for planning and facilitating the day of learning, and to Lanette "Lani" Landera, Corin Lopez, and Cristina Morejon for modeling the tutor role.   Learn more about our Personalized Learning Initiative: https://lnkd.in/enHCfyUE
