To my contacts with only 20 spaces to go can we see if we can get a few to sponsor some spaces at this event looking at Black women in policing led by Karen Geddes QPM BA (Hons) This conference in Birmingham will create an environment where Black women's talents, unique experiences, and perspectives are acknowledged, respected, and valued. They will discuss: - Why is there such a disparity of Black women in senior leadership roles compared to their white counterparts by reviewing and analysing data - How does this impact Black women and how can they be supported to survive and thrive in this workplace culture? - Does addressing racism and sexism include the experiences of Black women? - What are the implications and impact of a lack of Black women diversity for organisations such as the police? - How do we celebrate and give a voice to those Black women who have completed 30 years of service? Tagging a few people hoping you can share to your networks 🙏🏽. Sal Naseem FRSA Craig Pinkney Sayce Holmes-Lewis Annie A Gibbs Ayesha Fordham Dr Kelly Henderson CIHCM Sandra Pollock OBE MA

🆕 Status of Young Women in Scotland Survey! Across Scotland, young women and girls are struggling to have their basic human rights realised due to poor access to healthcare, precarious employment, the prevalence and persistence of gender-based violence, and the ongoing climate crisis. The Young Women's Movement flagship Status of Young Women in Scotland research for 2024-25 will focus on how young women understand, access and advocate for their human rights in Scotland. This is such a timely and important topic given the rising threats we're witnessing to young women's rights globally. Please share with young women you know, work and live with and encourage them to share their voices & experiences to help us influence change. We must continue to work towards a Scotland where young women's rights are progressed and upheld, insights from this research will enable The Young Women's Movement and others to continue advancing this work. Read more and fill in our survey here: https://lnkd.in/eU8eDzRg #SYWS24 #HumanRights #YoungWomen #WomensRights #Research #ParticipatoryResearch
📢 Status of Young Women in Scotland is back for 2024-25! We’re focusing on young women’s rights in Scotland. 🗣️ The young women involved in our movement told us that they want: - a better understanding of their own human rights - how they might access high-quality, evidence-based information when they feel their rights may have been breached, violated, or ignored. 📊 As part of our new research, we’re hosting a survey exploring the state of young women's rights in Scotland in 2024, and we want to hear from you! ➡️ Respond to or share our survey by Friday 25th October: https://lnkd.in/eAKup5mw ➡️ Read a new blog by our Research & Policy Lead, Dr Rebecca Mason, who discusses why this topic is so important in Scotland today: https://lnkd.in/ekFWjCZU #SYWS24

Happy Monday, everyone! As we walk into a new month filled with significance and empowerment, let's shine a light on two important observances close to our hearts: Women's History Month and Endometriosis Awareness Month. 🚺 Women's History Month: Throughout March, myObMD.org will honor the extraordinary achievements and contributions of women who have shaped history and transformed our world. From trailblazing scientists to fearless activists, women have been at the forefront of progress, inspiring us all to dream, achieve, and advocate for equality. Let's celebrate the resilience, strength, and leadership of women everywhere! 💛 Endometriosis Awareness Month: March is also a time to raise awareness about endometriosis, a complex and often misunderstood condition that affects millions of individuals worldwide. Endometriosis can cause chronic pain, infertility, and other debilitating symptoms, yet it remains underdiagnosed and undertreated. Let's unite to amplify the voices of those living with endometriosis, advocate for better understanding and support, and work towards improved care and research. What are your thoughts on Women's History Month and Endometriosis Awareness Month? How can we continue to support and empower women, both in healthcare and beyond? Let's connect and inspire each other to strive for progress and equality.

Reflecting on an insightful webinar I attended for International Women's Day 💡 Some key takeaways that stuck out to me: - Long-term, flexible feminist funding is key to truly making an impact - Holistic support and services are vital in addressing sexual violence - It's about capacity building AND retention for sustainable change - It will take changing the status quo to break the Culture of Silence surrounding sexual violence
Join us on March 8, 2024, at 11:00 a.m GMT for our Virtual Convening celebrating International Women's Day! Come talk with us as we share impactful stories from African feminists combating sexual violence through the KASA! initiative. Follow the link below to register! https://lnkd.in/gHbgBCUz
