Capitulating.
It's interesting to watch organizations capitulate to weird doctrines.
Yesterday we learned that Caitlin Clark wasn't selected to represent Team USA, a decision I can't understand if the goal is to promote a sport more broadly and have every American watching. 🤔
But that's for another day....
Today Major League Eating, which until today I didn't know existed, told the USA Olympics 'hold my beer' and banned Joey Chestnut from the July 4th contest.🍺
Turns out Joey is sponsored by a plant based hot dog and that upset MLE (I assume that's their acronym).
So, let me get this straight, Nathan's hot dogs sponsors the July 4th eating contest and their biggest draw (Joey) is banned because he is sponsored by a plant based.
Do I suddenly want to eat more beef hotdogs?
Nope.
They aren't going to cause a beef eating frenzy and instead they will tank their rating for their sole watched event.
Also, how many real hotdog eaters care, let alone would even know Joey was sponsored by a plant dog?
The point?
Nothing more than an organization forgetting their purpose and failing to promote their 'sport' properly.
Instead of being scared of the competition, fight it, don't ban it.

🌭Follow #CEOPeter, he's no baller, but can eat a hotdog or three.
ps. Nathan's hot dogs are terrible.
pss. Joey should get Hebrew National to run an eating challenge on 7/4 on Fox Sports.
So glad I was able to hang out with the crew at The Sports Bra this weekend. We're honored that this modern day Portland icon grilled up our delicious Abbot's burgers for the event!
