🖤 Grief Awareness Day 🖤 | August 30 Today, we honor #GriefAwarenessDay by recognising grief's profound impact on our lives. Grief is a natural response to loss, but for some, it can lead to an increased risk of suicide. At LivingWorks, we understand the critical connection between grief and #SuicidePrevention. Our training programs, like #LivingWorks ASIST (Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training), equip individuals with the skills to support those in crisis, including those dealing with intense grief. Let's unite to support one another and raise awareness about the importance of understanding grief and providing intervention. Bringing conversations about grief into the workplace. Helping businesses increase productivity and retention and build a great place to work. | Workshops for managers and teams | Facilitator, Writer and Keynote speaker
Last week, a client confirmed my first webinar for National Grief Awareness Week in December. Have you thought about what your company will do yet? It takes place every year in early December and is a chance for us all to talk about grief and what it means for us and those around us. Here are a couple of ideas 🌻 A panel discussion where people share their own experiences of grief and what that has meant to them 🌳 A memorial tree or wall, where people can leave photographs or names of loved ones who have died. 🦋 Online or in-person session on what grief feels like and advice on how colleagues and managers can be more supportive. 👉 Remind people of support resources available to them 📖 Additional resources on your intranet 🗝️ A discussion of what an inclusive bereavement policy would look like. If you would like to have a chat with me about what your company can be doing, then book an appointment above or follow the link in the comments. I only have a limited number of slots available during Grief Awareness Week for webinars, panel discussions and speaking events, so it's best to plan ahead. #nationalgriefawarenessweek #wellbeingatwork #griefawareness

Grief & Loss Support Group Grief and Loss are such powerful emotions, that no one should venture alone during these sensitive times. GenPride is aware of the impact this topic has on Mature Adults in the LGBTQIA+ community. This is why we have started an ongoing support group to provide community, coping strategies, comfort, support, and a safe place to process your grief and loss. Experiencing loss can look different to different people and comes in all sorts of shapes and sizes. Loss may not necessarily be a person, it may be losing what you had for years but experiencing various levels of abilities and limitations as a mature adult. What we know is that healing takes place through storytelling in a comforting environment with others. Come join us and we will walk this journey together. You are not alone at such a vulnerable time in your life. Quote from group facilitator, Michele Mannix: “No one has to suffer alone in silence. Community is the answer to moving forward on a path that is stricken by sadness and loss. Hope can be around the corner.”
