🌱 Being a trauma-informed service provider means creating a safe, supportive environment where both staff and the people we support feel heard, respected, and understood. It's about recognising the impact of trauma on individuals' lives and responding with empathy and compassion. For staff, it means providing ongoing training and support to understand the effects of trauma, implementing self-care practices, and fostering a culture of open communication and understanding. For the people we support, it means acknowledging their experiences and providing trauma-sensitive care that promotes healing and empowerment. It's about building trust, offering choices, and creating opportunities for connection and growth. Together, let's nurture a community where everyone feels valued and supported on their journey towards healing and resilience. #TraumaInformedCare #Empathy #Support #HealingJourney 💚🌟

The alumni network plays a pivotal role in the ongoing recovery journey of individuals who have completed treatment. This group provides a sense of belonging and camaraderie among individuals who have shared similar experiences, fostering a supportive and understanding environment where individuals can openly discuss challenges, celebrate milestones, and offer encouragement to one another. The alumni network serves as a valuable resource for continued learning and growth, offering opportunities for ongoing education, skill-building, and relapse prevention strategies. Additionally, the alumni network provides a crucial safety net during times of temptation or crisis, offering practical assistance, emotional support, and accountability to help individuals stay on track with their recovery goals. By staying connected to the alumni network, individuals can cultivate lasting connections, build resilience, and find strength in the collective journey towards healing and recovery. #PostTreatmentCare #AlumniNetwork #CommunitySupport #RecoveryCommunity

21 years ago, this day was marked as world suicide prevention day to help break the chain of stigma that exists concerning the conversation around mental health, trauma and suicide. It’s ok, in fact normal not to feel ok. We need to talk. As always, remember: Please stay safe, everyone. Look after each other. If you are feeling like you need help, please feel free to reach out and seek assistance. The new 9-8-8 crisis line here in Canada is a great resource. Or, reach out to a friend, peer support group, or co-worker (including your EAP/EFAP resources). If you know someone who may be at risk, reach out and lend an ear. That may be all they need.
