En route to DC for conversations on optimal deployment of capital to accelerate industrial decarbonization. The TL:DR of my message to policy makers? We need products, not projects. Drop-in solutions are more easily financed than complex integration projects and will scale faster. All things equal, the federal government should be prioritizing the support of factories that make the next generation of climate solutions, not one-off projects that are hard to scale. #ClimateCapital #ClimatePolicy #IndustrialDecarbonization #ClimatePolicy #EnergyPolicy

I've always wanted a Climate Dashboard that would pull together the best pages and sites for tracking key climate topics. It's not a simple task because there are literally thousands of things to choose from, but we finally built it over the Holidays. It's available to anyone who wants to have such a resource. You can access on-line, or download it to your own computer for much better access, and the ability to customize it to your own interests and needs. Info and links in the attached downloadable PDF, including an explanatory video. It should take you about 10 minutes to get the Dashboard set up, including downloading the FREE TheBrain software that we've used to build the Dashboard. UPDATE: Just fill out this form to get the instructions and files: https://lnkd.in/gT27TTbb We'd also welcome suggestions about resources you think we should add to the Dashboard - it's really easy to modify and improve! Happy New Year!

The White House released their Climate Resilience Game Changers Assessment. While I 100% trust the ability of linkedin to turn this into a political post I wanted to highlight just one thing. It specifically calls out "Smart Water Infrastructure". This is the use of sensors, valves, software, and other technology to more dynamically manage our water systems. Changes are you live in a City with a "Smart Water Meter" well they are getting better all the time. They can sense leaks, pressure, and even water quality all across the network vs just at the treatment facilities. Utility leaders - Use this as backup when in front of city councils or funding authorities. This can help you incorporate Smart Water Infrastructure into your capital programs. Tech leaders - Study the language and wording in there. It's pressure management, variable speed drive, water loss, data privacy, workforce transition, etc....AI doesn't appear once. There is a lesson in there. Also, as someone who is more like minded with the republican party I have to clearly state that I have not seen republican leadership on this issue. Overall funding for water capacity yes, but not specifically more funding for Smart Water Infrastructure. In fact one of the original cities that pioneered this approach was South Bend Indiana under then Mayor Pete Buttigieg. https://lnkd.in/g5D8Hcbt

The Building Sector accounts for 49 out of the 556 Solutions on this climate tech solutions map - the problem in the building industry isn't in a lack of solutions, but a lack of adoption. We hope to increase adoption through our ADU Guide, which delivers clear, actionable guidance on better building practices for ADUs. Check it out and let's implement these solutions together! https://lnkd.in/gnEBkt7V #ADUs #BuildBetter #BuildingSector

Web3 Empowers Communities for Local Climate Action Traditional climate monitoring approaches have significant limitations, failing to provide hyperlocal, real-time data. However, Web3 and decentralized networks offer a solution by democratizing environmental monitoring and enabling community ownership. Decentralized Physical Infrastructure Networks (DePINs) incentivize participants to create networks of climate sensors owned by investors and citizens. This aligns individual and collective interests through tokenized rewards for data collection. The potential impact is huge — a widespread sensor network could provide unprecedented insight into local air pollution, noise, and light levels. This transparent data can drive better climate policies, accountability, and direct incentives for positive climate actions. While challenging, this Web3-enabled paradigm shift empowers communities with granular environmental data and agency. DePINs pave the way for bottom-up, global collaboration to tackle the climate crisis locally. Would you like to learn more or do you have any questions? Leave them in the comments, and we'll continue the discussion. #Web3ClimateAction #DecentralizationForGood #DePINs #CommunityEmpowerment #SustainableTech
