It's about nurturing relationships that honour Indigenous nations' deep wisdom and intertwine it with corporate governance. This synergy creates an environment where mutual respect is the cornerstone and where every partnership thrives on shared values and visions. 🍃 Join us in celebrating and advocating for a future where strengthened relationships guide our way, respect transcends boundaries, and every voice crafts a harmonious tapestry of progress. 🌍🪶 #RETI #StrengthenedRelationships #IndigenousPartnerships #SharedVisions

🌿 At The Iris Project, we're all about funding youth-led projects. 🤔 WHY With less than 1% of institutional climate funding currently being directed towards young people, opportunities are being missed to support one of the best solutions we have when it comes to tackling the climate and nature crisis. By neglecting to provide young people with the necessary funding and support, the world is being deprived of the transformative impact that young people can make. Our aim is to build and enable a global community of young environmental leaders who have the motivation, confidence, capacity, and resources to drive tangible environmental and societal gains, both locally and globally. 🎯 HOW Through grant funding and mentorship, The Iris Project is setting a new standard. We're investing in youth-led projects and ideas, ensuring they receive the recognition and guidance they deserve. Our approach fosters an environment where young change-makers’ passion and projects are nurtured, their voices amplified, and their initiatives transformed into impactful change. With solar panels financed by @Mountain Association [input tag], Gwen Christon, owner of Isom IGA, created jobs with money she saved by cutting energy costs. Her testimony highlights how CDFIs like Mountain Association drive climate solutions and foster more resilient communities: https://lnkd.in/ezt4zHGn #ClimateJusticeMonth

International Project Manager | Listener | Dialogue Facilitator | Highly Evaluated Educator | Policy Developer and Advocate | Team Leader | Environmental, Peace, Democracy Expert | Experienced Researcher | Editor
📣 Honored to announce that I’ll be presenting alongside Brian N. Williams at #PeaceCon2024, organized by the Alliance for Peacebuilding! 🕊 https://lnkd.in/eDrsPYCT Our presentation, entitled "Cultivating Belonging and Restoring Dignity Through Building Trust in U.S. Universities During the Protests of 2023-2024," will focus on a crucial issue: bringing humanity back into our political discussions. In a time of heightened polarization, it's more important than ever to engage in constructive disagreement. We all have a role in supporting peace and democracy, and a great starting place is the courage to listen across difference. This panel at PeaceCon is an opportunity to deepen our understanding of the broader societal tensions reflected in these protests, with an eye toward the implications for the upcoming academic year alongside practical approaches to unify and support. Our presentation connects directly to our project this year at UVa - Reimagining Protest and Policing in the Public Square: Centering Humanity in the Design and Delivery of Solutions. Through gatherings, workshops and sustained dialogue, our project provides another opportunity for our community to learn from one another across viewpoints, and to learn from the past as a means to come together at this present moment and to join in actions that support a thriving community. Our goals? 🔅 Facilitating a process that actualizes an enhanced sense of “we” by taking a Human-Centered Design approach to co-create and co-design implementable policies and practices ❤️ Be active in listening to and supporting our local community through a time of tension and apprehension 💫 Boost civic and political engagement 🌳 Enhancing wellness, wellbeing, and relational policing Increases understanding, trust and confidence in democratic institutions If you can, come and share conversation with us and with peace practitioners from all over the world. #deeplistening #abraverway #depolarize #dialogue #protest #university #freespeech #communitypolicerelations #relationalpolicing #dignity #peacebuilding
