We love seeing young adults take ownership of their experiences at Engage, and especially their lives. It's empowerment through ownership. Boom!! At Engage, we are constantly inspired by the young adults who take charge of their own journeys towards independence and well-being. One young adult recently embraced the challenge of creating their personal schedule, including the addition of jiu-jitsu classes. Taking ownership of your life and mental health treatment is no small feat. It requires courage, commitment, and a willingness to step outside of your comfort zone. By incorporating jiu-jitsu into their routine, this young adult is not only building physical strength and discipline but also enhancing their mental resilience and self-confidence. At Engage, we believe in the importance of personalized approaches to mental health treatment. Encouraging young adults to take ownership of their schedules and treatment plans fosters a sense of agency and empowerment that is essential for long-term success.

Every child deserves to grow up in an environment where their mental health is valued. It's about fostering resilience, empathy, and understanding from an early age, laying the foundation for a brighter and healthier future. I'm reminded of a touching story shared by a reader who found solace in our magazine's articles. A parent shared their story of going through their child's anxiety with newfound confidence, thanks to the resources and insights provided by Ayra Magazine. It's moments like these that reaffirm the significance of our collective efforts in raising awareness. As we advocate for children's mental health, let's remember that small actions can make a big difference. Whether it's starting conversations, supporting educational initiatives, or creating resources, each of us has the power to positively impact young lives. Together, we can create a world where every child feels seen, heard, and supported. Ayra Magazine aims to spread the message of hope and resilience. Together, let's shine a light on children's mental health today and every day. Together, we can make a difference. #ChildrensMentalHealthAwarenessDay

In recognition of World Infant, Child and Adolescent Mental Health Day 2024, ARACY echoes the theme of 'In their own words: Bridges to understanding mental health'. This year's focus on lived experience reminds us of the importance of listening to children and families about their mental health struggles. Here in Australia, it's concerning that half of all adult mental health issues begin before 14, with over half of affected children not receiving help. The National Mental Health Commission's Children's Mental Health and Wellbeing Strategy, aligned with the Australian Government's health plan, provides a crucial framework to address this gap. ARACY strongly supports investment in initiatives that empower children and families to seek and access the support they need. #WICAMHD #infantchildadolescentmentalhealth #worldmindyourheart #valuedlovedandsafe
Join us as we commemorate World Infant, Child and Adolescent Mental Health Day. The theme for 2024 is ‘In their own words - Bridges to understanding mental health’ which highlights the importance of the lived experience of mental ill-health as experienced by children and their families, and listening to our youngest people and their families, in their own words. In Australia, half of all adult mental health challenges emerge before the age of 14 and more than 50% of children experiencing mental health challenges are not receiving professional help. The National Mental Health Commission has developed the National Children’s Mental Health and Wellbeing Strategy as part of the Australian Government’s long-term national health plan. It provides a framework to guide crucial investment in the mental health and wellbeing of children and their families. You can read more about this work 👉 https://lnkd.in/gVFRGh_w

Celebrating BIPOC Mental Health Month...To promote and effectively address mental health for all, MHA uses a racial equity and intersectional lens to highlight, better understand, and effectively respond to the range of experiences held by individuals and families with diverse values, beliefs, and sexual orientations, in addition to backgrounds that vary by race, ethnicity, religion, and language. IMPORTANCE OF COMMUNITY • A sense of belonging and inclusion in communities is vital for well-being and mental health. BIPOC individuals may frequently feel othered or as if they are tokenized in spaces in which their identities are not embraced or reflected. • Community safety is more than just physical. Psychological safety consists of inclusion and the safety to learn, contribute, and challenge the status quo. • Having a sense of community creates a sense of support and belonging, reducing feelings of isolation. • Community-led spaces are vital sources of belonging that promote overall mental health and wellness. This includes cultural hubs, which are areas of people with a specific cultural background who have come together to live, provide services, or connect with one another. • Individuals who have strong connections to their communities have better mental health outcomes, including lower rates of suicide, violence, and feelings of isolation.
