As the seasons change, it's an excellent time to make a positive impact in your community and beyond. Here are some simple yet impactful ways to make a difference: 1. **Support Local Businesses**: Show your support for small businesses in your area by shopping locally. Whether it's grabbing a coffee from a neighborhood cafe or purchasing gifts from independent stores, your support can help bolster the local economy and strengthen community ties. 2. **Express Gratitude to Others**: Take the time to express appreciation to those around you, whether it's family, friends, or colleagues. A heartfelt thank you or a kind gesture can brighten someone's day and foster a sense of connection and goodwill. 3. **Donate Your Time to an Organization You Like**: Volunteer your time and skills to a cause or organization that aligns with your values. Whether it's helping out at a local shelter, participating in a community cleanup, or volunteering at a food bank, giving back can make a meaningful difference in the lives of others. Community Spotlight: Julie Workman's Heartwarming Volunteer Journey 🌍 Why Operation Christmas Child? I chose to volunteer with Operation Christmas Child because it aligns with the passion of our church. Each year, we come together to gather items that bring joy to children and families in need worldwide. It's a powerful way for us to be the hands and feet of the Lord, spreading love and hope to those less fortunate. 💡 A Glimpse into the Impactful Experience: Walking into the processing center was truly eye-opening. Witnessing the dedication and effort it takes to bring the boxes from our churches to the final steps before shipping was remarkable. Each box is meticulously examined to ensure it radiates the love of Jesus, providing a moment of joy amid daily struggles for these children. 🤝 Advice for Colleagues Interested in Volunteering: Make it a mission to put smiles on faces, not just for self-gratification, but because you genuinely want to make a difference in someone else's life. Embrace volunteer work with the intention of bringing joy and positive change. Together, let's create a ripple effect of love and kindness! #HCJCommunityInvolvement #VolunteerJourney #MakingADifference

Fervently advocating for the recognition and appreciation of VCSE organisations and their impact, while exploring how transformation and innovation can be leveraged to reduce health inequalities within communities.
We have been in operation for over 20 years and we are still asked, "What is it that you do?" It is a very good question, however, a better question to ask would be "what is it that you don't do?". Having been involved with SNVB for a few years, I can assure you that there isn't much that we don't do. We don't just organise journeys for our passengers to attend their medical appointments. We don't just ensure that community members have access to food. We don't just maintain gardens for community members who are no longer able to because of their health or circumstances. We build relationships with our members. We listen when they feel that no-one else is listening. We reassure them that they are not a nuisance. We support them when they have no one else to turn to. We ensure that they are not sat at home in the dark without any heating because they are scared that they cannot afford the increased energy costs. We assure them that we will help them and follow it through to ensure that they receive the help and support that they are entitled to. We assist them with accessing information online because they either don't have the technical know how or the equipment to do it themselves. The number of times that one of our volunteer drivers has turned up at a passengers property to find that they are not answering. Anyone else might assume that the passenger has gone out or found another way of attending their medical appointment. We have saved the lives of seven passengers because we do not assume. Not ever. Many charities will face closure because they are unable to continue with rising costs and inadequate funding from their local authority. Every charity is required and expected to keep doing more and more, for less. We do not work the hours we are paid for. We work DOUBLE the hours we are paid for. Yet, we find ourselves worrying about what charity is going to close next because the impact that it will have on their community will be hugely detrimental. If you have taken the time to read this, THANK YOU. For charities it isn't a case of "use us or lose us", it is a real case of "support us or lose us". If you are able to support SNVB in order to keep our community projects active then your help is very much appreciated and you can be assured that your donation, will be used to support those that need it most within our community.

Today is RANDOM ACT OF KINDNESS DAY 🎉 I would like to encourage everyone who sees this post to do a random act of kindness this weekend. Here is a list of some acts of kindness • Paying for a stranger’s food bill. • Giving a homeless person food or money. • Checking in on your elderly relatives or neighbours. • Donating to charities like ours https://lnkd.in/ePCsqsn8 • Complimenting people. • Offering your services to someone who may not be able to afford them otherwise but would benefit from them. • Sharing a word of encouragement with someone. • Giving a bunch of flowers 💐 to a stranger & tell them it’s random act of kindness day (pass it on 😊)… you just never know what someone is going through and that random act of kindness, could be the very thing that uplifts them and changed the course of their life! So your challenge; should you wish to accept it is 1- Share this post and 2- Do at least 1 random act of kindness this weekend 🥰💐
