Students have been the biggest winners under Chancellor Rodriguez’s leadership. By students, I mean everyone—from older adults seeking a new career or transitioning, to those who once believed community college wasn't for them. Francisco has brought a forward-thinking perspective during his 10 years as Chancellor, ahead of his time. In my 40-year career in State Government, I have never encountered someone as committed as he is. Visionary, bold, and unafraid to advocate for diversity and student needs, he has consistently made the big decisions that matter. Congratulations on an amazing 10 years; over 350,000 graduates under his leadership say it all.

As Chancellor, you always found time to remember each and every employee who crossed your path… and I still remember one of our initial meet ups where you had in your bag, notes my students had written about the wrap around services they utilized and how thankful they were for having these services… and you were about to board a flight to Sacramento to advocate for more $$$s so that LACCD could continue these services… and you were going to share these notes with the legislative powers that make these decisions. I will never forget how proud I felt that my simple classroom assignment had such impact & power. It shaped how I would teach…. I so appreciate your leadership- & the fact that you were ALWAYS approachable! Always OPEN to new ideas & innovation in pedagogy. Students were ALWAYS your Top Priority, but a close second were the people who worked in LACCD. As an adjunct, I felt valued! 🙏

Chancellor Rodriguez has from Day 1 been an inspiration to me and all of the LACCD administrators over the years. He is 1 in a million of executives that knows how to relate and support deans, VPs, faculty and staff toward student success, diversity inclusion, and tough decisions. Dr. Rodriguez is a man of many talents and once you have met him, you never forget his leadership. Congrats on your 10 years of community college success.
