Besides being known for March Madness, March is Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month! In honor of this month, I have written a blog post reviewing some of the warning signs of colorectal cancer, screening guidelines, and prevention tips. As the second-leading cause of cancer-related deaths worldwide, colorectal cancer is a big deal. In addition, this illness is concerningly increasing among young people, so recognizing and preventing it is something people of all ages should be informed about. #colorectalcancerawareness #colorectalcancer

March is National Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month - have you been screened? The U.S. Preventive Services Task Force recommends that adults age 45 to 75 be screened for colorectal cancer. The change from age 50 to 45 was based on the trend of growing cancer diagnoses among younger adults. Whether it's a screening with an at-home test kit, or scheduling a colonoscopy, talk to your primary care physician about this important preventative care. Learn more: https://ow.ly/jltE50QRf41

No one likes to talk about colorectal cancer. But if you’re 45 or older, experts recommend that you get regular screenings. Start with these screening guidelines from Sarah Cannon, the Cancer Institute of HCA Healthcare – our larger health network. Colorectal cancer is the third most common cancer in the United States (excluding skin cancers), according to the American Cancer Society. In its early stages, colorectal cancer often has no symptoms – that’s why screening is so important. Talk to your doctor about which screening test is right for you. Early diagnosis is critical in the effective care of endometrial cancer (sometimes referred to as womb or uterine cancer). We’re supporting organisations like ENGAGe to raise awareness of gynaecological cancers, such as endometrial cancer. It’s important to be aware of the symptoms, as this knowledge can empower you to identify any potential signs early and act fast by speaking to your doctor. #GynaecologicalCancerAwarenessMonth
