Celebrating the 53rd National Safety Week! Let's ride the wave of safety from March 4th to 10th, 2024, and make it count. This isn't just about a week; it's about a mindset – Zero Compromise Towards Safety! Join us on this mission. The glimpse of our safety week observation isn't just pixels; it's a promise we make to keep each other safe, at work and home. Let's commit to safety together. It's not just a talk; it's a daily walk. This week, let's make SAFETY a HABIT, not just a rule. Your choices matter for a lasting impact. Let's create a safer work environment with one choice at a time. Happy Thursday! Here is this week's: 60 Seconds for Safety message brought to you by our parent company MYR Group The National Safety Council recognizes June as National Safety Month, an especially good time to purposefully refocus and reflect on the fact that safety is always everyone’s responsibility. All accidents are preventable – with the correct controls, procedures, and our complete focus, we can keep ourselves and our colleagues safe. Use the STAR method – Stop, Think, Act, Review – to ensure you’re taking the time to focus on safety and effectively take the steps needed to create a safe work area. Getting home safely at the end of the day depends on all of us staying focused, communicating effectively, and acting safely at all times. #myr #sturgeon #safetyfirst #culture

🏗️ National Safety Week: Driving Personal Ownership in Safety 🛠️ Safety is everyone's responsibility. That's why, during National Safety Week, we're starting with a key topic: taking personal ownership. It's not just about following the rules; it's about proactively identifying and addressing risks before they lead to incidents, and about accepting a greater level of responsibility for our safety and the safety of others. At Milender White, when we See Something, we Say Something. Whether it's an unsafe condition or behavior, we act to correct it, report it, or stop work until it is resolved. We encourage our team members to speak up, because every voice matters when it comes to safety. During National Safety Week, let's all take a moment to reflect on how we can strengthen personal safety ownership. Together, we can create a safer industry and ensure that every project is completed without incident. Thank you to everyone at MW for your commitment to safety. Let's continue to lead the way by owning our safety and supporting each other. Stay safe, and let's build a safer tomorrow. #MilenderWhite #NationalSafetyWeek #SafetyFirst #PersonalOwnership #ConstructionSafety

Safety goes so much deeper than the physical. It’s that feeling of belonging. Of purpose. Of value. Scot M. Thomas founded STC Safety because safety was the one thing he’d always longed for. This #SafetyStandDownWeek and #ConstructionSafetyWeek, we want to remind you that safety can easily become a mindless checkbox to complete. Don’t let it. When you feel truly emotionally, mentally, and physically safe, your life will change. You can overcome anything. #STCSafety #PrioritizeSafety #SafetyCulture

To me, safety is not the work of a single team or the topic of a single meeting. It’s embedded in our culture and is the result of the actions we take every day to protect ourselves, our colleagues, and our communities. Across the company, we’re taking advantage of National Safety Month to raise awareness of the most common causes of accidents and ensure employees feel empowered to speak up if they have a concern. We all play a role in maintaining a strong safety culture – from preventing slips, trips, and falls to using equipment and protective gear correctly. #LifeAtBAESystems

The fall protection message at this Standown was simple and it is our emphasis as a company at KBE: If you’re an employee and given a fall arrest system to use, ask to be trained on how to use it correctly! If your giving your employees fall arrest systems, provide training before allowing them to use it! So many occasions we find employees excited about being tied off and so many times we discover it isn’t being used correctly. We need to get better as an industry at training our people. With the turnover being such an issue in construction, having employees in the field with little or no experience is becoming the norm. Let’s first get these folks understanding how the systems work and then let’s hold them accountable to use it. Let’s get better at every level to combat falls in construction
We had another fantastic turnout on May 9th for the final Safety Week Standdown at the new South Campus Residence Hall project at UCONN! Safety Managers Brian Maxellon and Josh LaMonte, along with Corporate Safety Director Adam Peters, took a few moments to address the crowd. They emphasized the critical role that each and every one of us plays in maintaining a safe and secure work environment. Their words served as a powerful reminder of our shared commitment to prioritizing safety in all aspects of our work. 🚧 🛠️

#SafetyWeek 🦺 Because we care for our people, safety is at the centre of our activities and concerns. It is a daily fight. 🫸 It is also a moment of sharing to remind every employee of the importance of being uncompromising in the application of safety rules to achieve our “Zero Accident” objective.🎯 This year, the theme chosen is on the risks associated with last-minute changes, unusual conditions or taking the initiative. Why this theme❓ When we analyze the causes of our serious accidents or accidents that could have been serious - the high potential for severity, we find that very often they occur after a last-minute change that was not taken into account in the execution of the tasks to be carried out. How to make a step change? ✅By preparing the activities: make a high-quality starter every day. Without a starter, there's no activity! ✅Identifying changes in relation to what was planned ✅Taking time to adapt to these changes, with new risk controls in place if needed, so that work can be resumed safely We all have a right & duty to say STOP when safety conditions are not assured. 🫸 Together, let's stop, think and act for safety!👌 #SafetyWeek #WeActForPeople #ColasRailCares #OneSafety
