Last week, I had the privilege to join The Wall Street Journal's CEO Summit in London to speak about What's Next for AI - alongside Gaia Marcus FRSA of the Ada Lovelace Institute and John W Cassidy from Kindred Capital VC, and moderated by Sam Schechner, we discussed the impact of the forthcoming legislation from the EU. The EU AI Act is poised to be the world's first comprehensive regulation of AI. This could set a global standard for AI development and use, potentially influencing other countries to adopt similar frameworks. Here are a few key takeaways from the conversation: - Regulation and innovation are not at odds—they should inspire AI companies to do better and build better from the beginning. - We need regulators with skills and expertise in AI, and we as individuals and businesses need to be focused on what is best for society and growth. - As Gaia wisely put it, it's not just about Bad AI in the adversarial sense; it's about AI that's 'just not very good' - and we have the chance to build the best - for consumers and businesses alike. New regulations are coming into play to protect consumers in both the AI space and the Finance world (two areas we sit squarely in). At Featurespace, we welcome them. We believe that regulation should be built with consumer protection at its heart, and that's exactly what we do with our products and innovations, always staying a few steps ahead of the game. Thank you to the Wall Street Journal for facilitating such a vibrant conversation!

Check out the latest issue of International Trade Magazine to read an insightful discussion with our Founder & CEO Bill Dobie. #pulse #ai #maritime
It was a pleasure to speak with International Trade Magazine about our launch of Pulse earlier this year, how the solution addresses critical issues for shipping professionals and where it could go in the future. We discussed the transformative power of Pulse; taking unstructured data from email and other tools and consolidating this into valuable intelligence using AI. It gives charterers the ability to make quick, confident decisions so deals are not missed and they close fast. This was also a great opportunity to touch on Sedna AI which, similar to Pulse, aims to add even more analytics and deeper integrations to our products moving forward. This will further optimise operations, reduce costs and enhance profitability for Sedna customers. I’m excited to see us leading the way in bringing the benefits of automation to global trade businesses - and continuing to seek intelligent ways to bring efficiency to a new level. Check out the full interview in the comments to learn more about Pulse and how we’re shaping the future of global trade communication. #ai #maritimetech #chartering
