Liverpool City Region: the best place to grow up, grow a family, and grow a business - where no-one is left behind.
About us
Bringing together Halton, Knowsley, Liverpool, Sefton, St Helens and Wirral to provide strategic governance and support economic growth. Working With Us We’re looking for people with the passion to deliver on our vision and help us to create a truly global and competitive city region which works for everyone. Devolution brings real powers to make policy and investment decisions that suit our own needs. We have a historic opportunity right now, with our city region growing faster than any other combined authority area, huge investment in infrastructure, and an unrivalled quality of life, with excellent cultural and leisure opportunities and affordable living costs. Yet, like all post-industrial cities, we need to work hard to ensure the benefits of growth reach everyone who lives and works here. We will invest more than £500m in the next four years, in projects which create social value and support our inclusive economy agenda, across transport, housing, skills and adult education, the social economy, business growth, innovation, land and property. Where else could you be working on projects as diverse as a £460 million investment to introduce a brand new fleet of state-of-the-art trains, a new approach to tackling homelessness, or an ambitious plan to harness the tidal power of the River Mersey and Liverpool Bay to create plentiful, predictable, renewable electricity? If you think that sounds exciting, you’re right, and we want to hear from you.

#LCRMissionUSA Last week saw Mayor Steve Rotheram lead our most ambitious ever trade mission to the USA. In Boston, New York and North Carolina, our message was the same - we're world-famous, we're world-leading and we're primed for investment, trade and for welcoming even more visitors from the US. The US is Liverpool City Region’s largest export market worth £1.8bn a year and is the biggest source of overseas investment, with huge opportunities to increase trade and tourism. Aimed at driving tens of millions of pounds of long-term investment, trade and tourism to the Liverpool City Region, the high-level delegation included senior representatives from the city region’s Health and Life Sciences sector, including the University of Liverpool and Health Innovation North West Coast, as well as leaders from Culture Liverpool, National Museums Liverpool, ACC Liverpool and UK Music. With a packed schedule, invaluable links were made and consolidated across all three cities and we hope to see them start to bear fruit in the near future. Thanks to everyone involved from our city region and over the in US. #LCRMissionUSA | Last week saw Steve Rotheram, Mayor of the Liverpool City Region lead our high-level trade mission on from Boston to New York. A different city but the same message - we're world-famous, we're world-leading and we're primed for investment, trade and for welcoming even more visitors from the US. The New York leg saw more meetings with businesses and investors as well as a specific focus on shared cultural links, with the Mayor finding time in a packed schedule to honour John Lennon, one of Liverpool’s favourite sons, at the Imagine memorial to him in Central Park. Great start to the week for Tara Jussa and I at Radio Merseyside for their joint BBC One Morning Live Programme in aid of the BBC ‘Scam Safe’ Roadshow taking place throughout the next month across the UK. Hosted by Matt Allwright, todays roadshow brought together a range of organisations providing support to individuals who have been, or are at risk of scams, fraud and cyber crime – with Stop Scams UK, Merseyside Police Cyber Dependent Crime Unit, Merseyside Police Commissioner Victim Care Support and National Association of Student Money Advisers (NASMA) also in attendance. Great to be a small part of this in the background and support local residents with advice and guidance on what to look out for and how they can protect themselves – especially when using digital technology across both the UK and Liverpool City Region. We’re always actively looking to bring new organisations into the Liverpool City Region Digital Inclusion Network and are looking forward to more events with BBC Radio Merseyside as we enter 2025 - working with our partners to support residents and get the information and support in their hands.
