A Call to Light the World for Women Dear Esteemed Leaders, This weekend, I experienced something that moved my soul—a meeting with Helen Winter, the visionary leader of 4 Voices, and her extraordinary team. I learned about the work they are doing to connect, heal, and empower women across our communities, and my heart was overcome with joy, respect, and gratitude. Their mission is simple yet profound: Connecting Women, Changing Lives. In a world where loneliness, fear, and disconnection can overshadow hope, 4 Voices shines as a beacon of light, creating spaces where women can find not only connection but also their voice, their strength, and their future. Helen and her team have taken the power of connection and transformed it into a lifeline: 🌟 Safe Spaces: Vans named Aurora, Hope, Snowflake, and Emmie traverse communities, offering warmth, a cuppa, and heartfelt conversations without judgment or red tape. They’re not just vehicles—they’re sanctuaries. 🌟 Digital Empowerment: Bridging the digital divide, they gift women the tools to reclaim their independence, whether through access to technology or guidance in navigating the digital world. 🌟 Employment Support: They Walk beside women chasing their dreams, whether it’s finding a job, building a career, or starting a business. 🌟 Community Connection: When life’s challenges feel overwhelming, they provide a bridge to resources, services, and emotional strength that remind women they’re never alone. This isn’t just charity—it’s a movement. A movement of compassion, resilience, and sisterhood. It’s women standing for women, creating ripples of change that will echo for generations. As the Director of Aussies Disability Services Pty Ltd, I am humbled and inspired to pledge my unwavering support for this cause. I believe in Helen’s vision, her unwavering commitment, and the lives she touches every day. Now, I call upon you—leaders, visionaries, changemakers—to join us in this incredible journey. Imagine the power we hold when we unite our hearts and resources for women who need us most. Together, we can: 1. Expand 4 Voices’ reach to more women in need. 2. Elevate their impact by collaborating on transformative programs. 3. Empower women to rise, rebuild, and reclaim their lives with dignity and purpose. This is more than support—it’s a statement. A declaration that every woman deserves to be heard, valued, and uplifted. Let us become the hands that hold, the voices that cheer, and the light that guides women toward a brighter tomorrow. Be part of this movement that transforms not just lives but the very fabric of our communities. Together, let’s make this the most profound, heartfelt chapter in the story of women helping women. With deepest respect and unwavering hope, Lucie Majaliwa Director, Aussies Disability Services Pty Ltd #ChangingLives #WomenSupportingWomen #4Voices #Empowerment #SafeSpaces #DigitalInclusion #HopeForWomen #StrongerTogether #DignityForAll #LightTheWay

Women’s month is a wonderful opportunity for us to celebrate women in our lives. But we could do so much more… the real conversations need to start in our own homes and our workplaces. In what ways are we daily advocating for women? In what ways are making room for them to be heard and celebrated? In what ways do we intentionally set women up for wins? Women should not have to wait for August to feel celebrated. Our campaigns and events about protecting, standing up for and standing with women should not be a facade to please or impress the crowd, this should be a genuine desire to see women win at home and at the workplace. Women are role models, prayer warriors, and leaders to many people in their communities and circles. Personally, women have had the greatest impact on my life— their resilience to keep dreaming even though the odds are against them, the tenacity to keep going when it could be easy to quit, the audacity to serve even when not appreciated, the miracle of carrying life and raising children, the power to love, to work, and to enjoy life. The drive to honor and vouch for women should not stop when the month of August ends. It should be an ongoing pursuit… 💛

Empowered Women Empower Women! This Women’s Month, we celebrate a fundamental truth: when women are empowered, they become powerful catalysts for change in their communities. Empowered women lift each other up, paving the way for more voices to be heard and more opportunities to be seized. They break barriers, challenge norms, and create spaces where others can thrive. Each act of empowerment ripples through society, fostering a network of support, strength, and solidarity. At Peo Empowerment and Development Foundation NPC, we are a women founded foundation committed to this empowering cycle. By providing tools, resources, and support to youth and women from historically disadvantaged backgrounds, we help them unlock their potential and, in turn, inspire them to uplift others. It’s a continuous journey of mutual growth and support. Let’s honor the women who empower, inspire, and lead with heart. Share your stories of how empowered women have made a difference in your life, and let’s celebrate the incredible power of women supporting women. Together, we can build a world where every woman has the opportunity to shine and make a lasting impact. #EmpoweredWomenEmpowerWomen #WomensMonth #SupportEachOther #WomenSupportingWomen #PeoEmpowerment

🔼 When Women Rise 🔼 I took tennis legend, Arthur Ashe's advice by starting where I am with what I have. I timidly began a small circle for young women out of my home a couple weeks ago. There are only 4 of us—my 2 daughters, my niece, and me. I think we're technically only able to form a square 😉, but I envision wider circles to come. Lol. This circle is a space where we'll explore the power of empathy, connection, and community. It’ll be a place where women can come together, not just to rise for ourselves, but to rise for each other, lifting each other with our stories, our strengths, and our collective vision for a better world. I'm naming this space, When Women Rise, and little by little, I'll be working towards non-profit status. The idea for When Women Rise was birthed out of my own journey through burnout—a period in my life when I felt disconnected from the most important part of who I am: my heart. For too long, I was caught in a cycle of hypervigilance, constantly pushing through, focused only on the next responsibility. I didn’t realize that in doing so, I was losing touch with the essence of my vitality. Our heart is our battery. It wasn’t until I began to prioritize my well-being that I understood the full impact. Not only had I been neglecting myself, but I also saw how my burnout was affecting my children. They were struggling emotionally, and I could see how my own state of stress and disconnection was rippling out into our home. When I chose to reconnect with my heart, to make space for rest, spirituality and healing, I noticed a profound shift—both in myself and in my family. This process showed me how our well-being isn’t just about us; it affects everyone we love. That’s why I'm creating When Women Rise—to give young women, like my daughters and niece, the space and tools to form strong connections with their hearts and their vitality. When Women Rise will be the organization that houses the program I'm building, "Empathy in Action: A Journey Through Connection, Storytelling, and Community—A Vision for Empowering Young Women." In "Empathy in Action," I'm using the framework of connection, storytelling, and community-building to guide young women on a journey of self-discovery and impact. It’s about recognizing that when we take care of our hearts, we not only rise—we rise together, in a way that can transform our families, our communities, and ourselves. This will be a space for these handful of young women to rediscover their strengths, their empathy, and their specific potential as world changers. As we come together, we will rise, not just for ourselves, but for one another—creating a ripple effect of healing and empowerment in our lives. This is my vision... **More cool facts about the impact of women to come.** _____ Did you like this post? 🔆 Like - Share - Comment - Connect _____ 📷 Image by Me And a song: "Rise Up" by Andra Day https://lnkd.in/g3g84uxS #WhenWomenRise #RiseUp #Community

Each March, as International Women’s Day rolls around, we three find ourselves rolling our eyes and thinking ‘enough of the placards and platitudes’. It’s true that the last wave of feminism lifted many up. But in some ways, it’s kept us frozen in a fight that’s stopped us moving forward. Despite the rise of women into positions of power in many parts of the world, the stats never improve enough to warrant celebration. We feel hope, but it’s false hope. We eat fried sausages or branded cupcakes, go back to work and nothing changes. We’re DONE with a tick-the-box approach to women in business. Whether it’s IWD breakfasts with great speakers but no change, or the mentoring programs that lift motivation but create little movement, we’re calling it out. IT’S NOT WORKING. It’s time to change not just the conversation, but what we do about it. We believe it’s time for a quantum shift for women. That’s why we started The Oyster Sisters and launched our Inner Shell community. We’re here to coach, champion and cheerlead women to untether from the binds that have kept us small, unshackle from the expectations that have cost us joy and quit playing the game the way we’ve been told to play it. Having worked as coaches and speakers to millions of women globally, we notice how many are depleted because they’ve armored up in ways that have become too heavy to hold. We’ve observed women: - Pushing to keep pace and sacrificing peace for the sake of so-called success - Hiding their true gifts, genius and greatness for fear of being taken down - Comparing themselves to each other and believing they’re lacking - Tangled in pleasing, perfecting and performing, burning out and drowning in self-doubt, blame or bitterness. We’ve seen this play out for other women, but we’ve also been there and overdone all of it ourselves too. Of course, we’re grateful for those who fought the good fight; protesting about glass ceilings and demanding rights. But in the messy middle of our own midlife breakdowns, we started getting curious about the way forward for women. We asked: - What if it’s time to drop the armour and let go of the old fight? - What if it’s time to stop playing the game the way it’s always been played? - What if it’s time to rewrite the story of success in our own words? To reframe feminine power on our own terms? To reclaim our right to choose our OWN adventures? We believe it’s time for a breakthrough. We know there’s a new way for women to rise, and we’re here to show women how. Here are three things to do, right now, if you feel similarly and are ready to take action: 1. Tell us: What are YOU done with? What changes are you raring to see? 2. Read about our Inner Shell at theoystersisters.com and join if it feels right to you 3. If you have a group of women in your workplace ready to flourish in their power, email us at hello@theoystersisters.com With love + fierce hope, Taryn Brumfitt, Dr Gemma Munro 🎤 & Mia Handshin The Oyster Sisters 🦪

Dear Women Who Empower Chronicle Reader, As we approach another pivotal moment in history, the landscape for women's empowerment and leadership has never been more critical or promising. The upcoming race, with Vice President Kamala Harris as a prominent figure, is not just another election—it is a defining moment that reflects the strides women have made and the challenges that still lie ahead. Vice President Harris represents more than just a candidate; she embodies the resilience, strength, and leadership women have fought for decades to attain. Her journey to the Vice Presidency has shattered countless glass ceilings, inspiring women from all walks of life to pursue their ambitions without hesitation. But as we celebrate these achievements, we must also acknowledge this election's profound stakes for women everywhere. On The Cover Women In Tech Traci Campbell talks about one barrier that has yet to change: the inclusion of women in key decision-making roles. That was when I came out of college, and throughout my career, I had to fight to get to certain positions. I was fortunate enough to have experienced some of the dot-com era. In Austin, Texas, I was able to work with a startup company as a director of quality assurance and software testing. That was only because I paid my dues at IBM as a consultant. I met men who were also Black and Brown, and they held higher positions. So they said, Hey, we're going to help this sister come across and get some opportunities. And so when they started up a dot-com startup, they said, Hey, we need you to head up quality assurance. Get Up, Stand Up! The lyrics of Bob Marley's song "Get Up, Stand Up" deeply resonate with me. I recently faced a challenging situation during a hotel stay. I had to advocate persistently to first attempt to get the management to provide the ADA [Americans with Disabilities Act]-accessible accommodations they had promised me. Then, when they did not offer sufficient accommodations, I had to fight to receive the refund I rightfully deserved. It is crucial to be a strong self-advocate in these situations. Being proactive in addressing obstacles that impact you negatively and actively seeking out solutions to overcome any accessibility barriers is essential. This September issue of The Women Who Empower Chronicle offers more inspiration, empowerment, guidance, real-life stories, philanthropic initiatives, fresh perspectives, and encouragement.
