By strategically hiring team members from outside our sector in addition to recruiting industry veterans, we benefit from gaining specialized skillsets, diverse experiences and fresh viewpoints as we innovate for our customers and reimagine industrial real estate at Link Logistics. As this hiring strategy has been key to our success, I was pleased to share my perspective in an article for Inc. Magazine, where I outline five ways the approach can help organizations can find a competitive advantage: https://lnkd.in/gBBgUBwu
This is a fantastic and much-needed article, Luke Petherbridge! I am constantly advising leaders to do just this, especially in the quest to drive diversity (of thought, gender, race, you-name-it). Thanks for this - I will be sending it around.
Great piece! It really hits home how our hiring approach is a cornerstone of our broader corporate strategy to differentiate in the marketplace.
Thank you Luke Petherbridge Petherbridge for sharing your ideas on the importance of building organizational strength through thoughtful hiring. We view our Link Logistics team members as our greatest asset—and we see their differences as strengths.
The range of diverse backgrounds that our people bring to Link Logistics has made us more creative, innovative and bold in all that we do. Thank you Luke for consistently advocating for inclusivity and the expansion of our talent pool.
Great practices for assembling a strong team, Luke Petherbridge. Unique perspectives are so valuable at Link Logistics and help our firm take thoughtful and strategic action
While this is great in theory, in practice you must develop a culture where training for the position and indoctrination of the *existing* team to these core values is necessary. My experience “from the outside” was not ideal as it was missing allyship and alignment from the top down.
Thanks for sharing this, Luke. Thrilled to be a part of a team that supports bringing this strategy to life at Link!
Love this perspective! Thanks for sharing. Best practices, opportunity recognition, and risk management are all enhanced when you bring in folks from other industries—it definitely grows your org’s pattern recognition capabilities.
Yes, it's amazing what talent you can find when you don't settle for the first person you come across through your 'old' network. Look beyond!
