What do you do when you look up it's already Q3 and your sales team is behind goal? Do you hire another salesperson? If so do you hire someone junior? Someone mid-level? Someone senior? Someone junior, in this market, is likely going to have a minimal impact this year. So, doesn't really help the "behind goal" reasoning for hiring. Someone senior? Still could have very little impact in this market. It's tough right now, and if their client base isn't hiring, they'll be doing very similar things to what the junior person is doing, just with more expertise and less help. My thought. Hire someone mid-level. They come with much more likelihood of making an impact on your bottom line before the end of the year. In both directions. If they do ramp up quickly, you win. If they don't, you don't significantly lose. Just my thoughts, as most of the hiring I'm seeing is hiring junior folks. Which, I can understand, as it's less financial risk in what feels like a risky economy. But, I'm not sure it's the right business decision. #RaiseTheRoose
