Everything starts with an idea. And this one changed my life. 3 years today, back at Saïd Business School, University of Oxford school, Jo and I decided to incorporate luna. What started as an MBA project is now a real business providing a game changing service to teens globally. But the decision to start a business doesn't happen overnight - it's a HUGE decision. Here are 6 key questions to evaluate if you're ready to work on your ideas for the long haul: 1. Are you ready to do this day in and day out? ↳ Building a business is all consuming - if you can't give 150% from the jump, then it's going to be a real slog. 2. Are you doing this alone or with someone else? ↳ If it's the former, do you have someone you can lean on, and if it's the latter are they the right person. 3. Do you have a strong support system? ↳ Make sure your family and friends around are onboard to provide the emotional backing you need. 4. How will you manage stress? ↳Think about the strategies you want to implement to maintain and look after your mental health - it's hard!! 5. Are you prepared for lifestyle changes? ↳Hobbies and social activities will take a backseat, at least for the first few years - does this timing work. 6. Do you have enough savings? ↳ Having a savings or a side gig will help with the first few months of uncertainty while the business stabilises. If it feels like the right time or idea now, then I say go for it.
