"De-follilize" is the new buzz word, but what does it really mean? As the energy transition unfolds and industries are electrified, we will see the supply of fossil-based raw material inputs dwindle. However, the world will still need carbon to make chemicals, plastics, and other physical goods. Progress has been slow to date: Companies fear that if they scale renewable routes too early, they will be at a disadvantage, especially if there are no supporting policies in place nor markets developed for more novel products. However, if companies act too late, they could miss out on the growing demand for more sustainable products or an alternative pathway that proves superior. Ultimately, how should companies be thinking about these different pathways to chemicals? If the raw material inputs change, will the product outputs change as well? And when should companies engage with emerging solutions?  This event will address these questions and provide a framework for making decisions around a defossilized future. Attendees will walk away understanding how Lux can help them be agile in meeting growing product demand and how to defossilize their value chain. https://lnkd.in/g76qHrEu Lux Research Kristin Marshall Yuki Takashima Shingo Nishioka Kazuki Seki
