Launching a creative studio at 20 came with a steep learning curve. But 7 years in, I feel like I’ve gathered some pretty solid tips of the trade. The most important? Your team is everything. At SixTwentySix, we’ve put a huge amount of effort into building a team that trusts each other and has each other’s back. From Day 1, we make it clear that: • Every voice matters. It’s not about about roles or titles; it about best ideas. • Feedback is essential for growth, and should be a two-way street. • Amazing work is recognized and rewarded. When one person achieves a milestone, the whole team celebrates it. • We give freedom to fail. Austin and I are the first to admit that we’ve tried a lot of things that didn't work out. Today I attended an event "Role Model Day Diversity der Startup Unit Berlin" organised by SIBB e.V. and it was a good opportunity to connect with some folks in Berlin and learn more about DEI initiatives here. Some takeaways from the panel: ➡️ Energy flows where attention goes. Sweating the small stuff can sometimes take away from what really matters, so be intentioned about focusing on what matters most, and the rest will follow along. ➡️ Diversity as a pillar of Social Sustainability. Reframing DEI as an element of Social Sustainability can help businesses understand its tangible benefits - that it is good for business and can increase profits through better efficiency and productivity, through a greater sense of belonging. ➡️ Diversity can be in the invisible. Your lived experience is your own, and it is not up to anyone to tell you "Oh but you don't look like you face discrimination". Acknowledging that everyone has different lived experiences regardless of how they present can go a long way in fostering a more inclusive environment.

Building a business is difficult. But today, we celebrate.🙌 Today's a landmark day-- one worth remembering. Looking back over the years since INNERGY began, it wasn't always easy. There were plenty of times that things didn't go well and it wasn't a straight uphill climb. There were switchbacks, it was sweaty, we had to grind through. There were plenty of walls that could have stopped us, so we named them and we climbed them. Crucifixion Sunday when our Early Adopters threatened to leave. Fatigue Friday when we lost velocity and expectations weren't being met. Dev Dissatisfaction occurred when about 60% of our development staff were looking for other jobs. There will be more and we will scale those as well. As leaders, we have to see beyond the day to day and continue to push towards strategy and goals. But today, we pause to celebrate 100 releases of the INNERGY software! That's a short term win worth celebrating. That's more than some software releases in a decade.
