With combined sewer overflows (CSO) making headlines again, it's critical to remember that 19% of CSOs are located at pumping stations. Our team recently used Ice Pigging™ to achieve a 25% flow improvement – from 52l/s to 65l/s – at a sewer pumping station, maximising capacity and protecting waterways. After just a 3-hour operation, it is now able to pump over 1,000,000 litres per day before the sewer overflows, reducing contamination risk to surrounding river waters.
