The international index company MSCI announced the results of its August index review, which showed that Envision Greenwise (1783. HK) was included in the global small-cap index. The relevant changes will take effect after the market closes on August 30, 2024. The inclusion of the Group's stocks in the MSCI index on the one hand shows the recognition of corporate quality by authoritative indexing organizations; on the other hand, it also includes the company in the target range of different investment institutions around the world, which will further enhance the Group's presence in the global investment market, especially its visibility and attention in the ESG investment.  #sustainability #circulareconomy #ESG

On December 8, #NYK was selected for the Dow Jones Sustainability Indices (DJSI), the world's leading investment indexes for ESG criteria, for a 21st straight year.   DJSI is a global and long-lasting index that comprehensively analyzes more than 13,000 major companies around the world from the aspects of the environment, society, and governance/economy.   This fiscal year, NYK was selected as a member of the Dow Jones Sustainability Asia Pacific Index (DJSI Asia Pacific). This index includes 156 companies in the Asia Pacific region, of which 75 are Japanese companies.   Additionally, NYK was included in the FTSE4Good Index Series, as well as the FTSE Blossom Japan Index and FTSE Blossom Japan Sector Relative Index, all of which are important indexes for investors who value corporate social responsibility and sustainability.      

China's major stock exchanges have released guidelines for corporate sustainability reporting, aiming to standardize reports and improve disclosures. Larger companies face mandatory reporting requirements, while smaller ones can make voluntary disclosures. The guidelines cover governance, strategy, impact management, and indicators. Companies on the SSE and SZSE must report from 2026, while BSE-listed companies have voluntary reporting. How are Nordic companies performing when it comes to sustainability? According to the new guidelines released by the three major stock markets (the Shanghai Stock Exchange (SSE), Shenzhen Stock Exchange (SZSE), and Beijing Stock Exchange (BSE)), reporting requirements for listed companies will encompass four “core content” topics, including: governance, strategy, impact, risk and opportunity management, and indicators and goals. The listed topics indicate that the exchanges are adopting a “double materiality” approach to sustainability reporting, which includes reporting both on the risks and impact of sustainability issues on an enterprise, as well as on the enterprises’ impacts on environment and society.

Chinese Stock Exchanges have recently released the Official Guidelines of the New Sustainability Reporting Requirements for listed companies in China. The Guidelines for Self-Regulation of Listed Companies — Sustainability Report (Trial) issued by Shanghai Stock Exchange (SSE), Shenzhen Stock Exchange (SZSE) and Beijing Stock Exchange (BSE) became effective recently. According to Wind data, 2,095 listed companies disclosed their annual ESG reports, sustainability reports or social responsibility reports for 2023, compared to 1,847 that disclosed their ESG-related reports for 2022. This shows a further improvement in ESG disclosure rate of listed companies. More listed companies are expected to disclose their ESG performance in the future.
