🚨IEEE ICRA 2024 Paper Alert 🚨 ➡️Paper Title: Learning to walk in confined spaces using 3D representation 🌟Few pointers from the paper 🎯In this paper authors have presented a method for legged locomotion control using reinforcement learning and 3D volumetric representations to enable robust and versatile locomotion in confined and unstructured environments. 🎯By employing a two-layer hierarchical policy structure, authors exploited the capabilities of a highly robust low-level policy to follow 6D commands and a high-level policy to enable three-dimensional spatial awareness for navigating under overhanging obstacles. 🎯Their study includes the development of a procedural terrain generator to create diverse training environments. I'm excited to share our latest article: "Beyond Simulation: Unlocking the Frontiers of Humanoid Robot Capability and Intelligence with Pepper's Open-Source Digital Twin." 🤖📚 Dive into the transformative potential of digital twins in advancing humanoid robotics. This research paper introduces a high-fidelity, open-source digital twin of the Pepper robot, developed using ROS 2 for enhanced simulation realism in machine learning tasks. We created a custom ROS 2 package with Gazebo Sim, MoveIt 2, and Rviz2 to provide realistic environments that accurately reflect robot behaviors and interactions. 🌟 The digital twin's simulation accuracy was validated with Choregraphe software and real robot performance, proving it a robust platform for collaboration and further research.
