A lot of times the value of marketing is around "raising brand awareness" - but often there is pushback on how that is measured. One very simple measurement is - did the website traffic go up? If people are more aware of us then we could quantify that by seeing more website traffic. If the 'awareness' doesn't drive any actual engagement with the company then it's less compelling of a value. Example: (half joking) I'm AWARE of the country of Peru. But I am not engaging with it in any way.

How many Performance Max campaigns should you be running? There are three main factors to consider: your current brand awareness, budget, and volume of products. If you're investing between £5k-£10k per month on Performance Max or have around 200 products or less, generally one campaign is best. However, if you're investing over £10k per month or have a high product inventory, running just one campaign may be limiting your performance. In this case, consider building out a few additional campaigns to boost your overall performance. Stay tuned for my upcoming post on the different kinds of Performance Max campaigns that I run, which will be posted on Tuesday. 💡

What’s the value of involving CEOs in agency meetings? 🤔 It’s uncommon for the CEO to play an active role in the brand’s relationship with its creative agency. Typically, their involvement extends to the final reveal before a campaign launch or assessing marketing budgets in an annual review. But for Virgin Atlantic, Rightmove and the RSPCA, involving the CEO in their creative agency meetings helps streamline decisions, build trust and avoid “big surprises” in the final stages. So, does having the CEO more involved with a brand’s creative agency partners – from pitching to meetings to launch day – benefit or harm the role of marketing? 🔗 Link in comments for brands and agencies' full thoughts and experiences.
