Thanks Harper Carpenter for having me on the panel for “Receiving and Actioning Feedback: A Conversation with Managers“! Today we spoke to over 300 (!!) Amazon summer interns about the importance of feedback and how to navigate the feedback loop during their internship. I was joined by my manager Jill Florant, former intern Siddharth Kale, and his manager Suresh to have an open conversation. The information shared is SO valuable for anyone in their career, not just interns. So, here’s a few takeaways from our panel discussion ➡ Hear feedback from multiple perspectives. Having contributions from diverse voices helps you get a full picture of how you can improve and iterate. Ask for feedback early on! This is also a great way to introduce yourself and develop meaningful relationships within your company. If you receive feedback you disagree with but feel passionate about your stance, it speaks volumes to have data that backs up your decision. Walk into feedback sessions with a positive mindset. People aren’t disagreeing with you for the sake of argument, it’s important to hear others’ opinions and take constructive criticism well. In the end, it’s all about being a team player! Receiving feedback can be intimidating, but approaching it with a constructive outlook will make your impact even greater. If you’re an intern or new grad and want to connect further, I’m always happy to share my experiences 😊

As the summer portion of my internship comes to an end, I'm excited to share some of the work I've accomplished as an Amazon Marketplace Intern at Justrite Safety Group. At the beginning of the summer I had the opportunity to travel to Broomfield CO, for intern week. I had the chance to meet the other interns in person, I gained a deeper understanding of Justrite Safety Group and its mission, and got valuable advice from experienced professionals as I start out my career in marketing. Throughout the summer, I analyzed our market position across key product selections, and conducted in-depth keyword research to identify the most effective keywords for boosting sales and increasing ad conversion rates. I then applied this research to craft detailed product page copy and create compelling A+ Content. I ended the summer portion of my internship with a presentation to the other interns, managers, and members of the exec board, highlighting the processes and results of my summer projects. I'm thrilled about the opportunity I have to continue working with and learning from Christy Trahan and the rest of the Amazon team during my fall semester. #AmazonMarketplace #MarketAnalysis #KeyWordResearch #AmazonAds

⭐As the year 2023 comes to an end, it seems important to reflect on key moments of this year that contributed to my growth and sparked new projects in me. 💼An experience that had a significant impact on my personal development was my 6-month internship as a Product Manager Intern at Amazon in Munich. During this time, I not only had the opportunity to work on meaningful projects, but also to meet inspiring people with diverse backgrounds and ambitious goals. 🗓I particularly enjoyed the Day 1 philosophy, which encourages creativity, adaptability and a relentless pursuit of excellence, creating an inspiring atmosphere to work, learn and make every day a stimulating experience. This made me realize important aspects that will help students get the most out of their internship and help them grow and explore new horizons: 1) Be curious. When interning in a company, you should try to learn as much as possible using the resources available to you: sign up for training, sign up for certifications, learn about the tools available in the company, ask your colleagues for advice, read the available documents… 2) Actively seek feedback. Seeking feedback will help you identify key growth opportunities as you evolve in your internship position and will also demonstrate your willingness to strive to be the best version of yourself. 3) Set clear goals for your internship. Without clear goals, you won't be able to track your successes. Setting clear goals and reflecting on them will not only keep you motivated but will also play a key role in your quest for advancement. 4) Build strong professional relationships. By developing a strong network through coffee chats, networking events, and lunch dates, you will gain a better understanding of the bigger picture and feel much more integrated into the company. In addition, meeting other interns or recent graduates will also inspire you for future academic or professional opportunities to further develop yourself. 🔮By doing so, you're will not only be investing in your current role but also paving the way for future success. ✨I wish you a 2024 filled with success, joy, and the fulfillment of all your wishes! PS: Thank you Francesca Fabro & Githa Devi for making this a unique experience ! #Amazon #Amazonian #Amazonstudentprogram #internshipexperience

Senior at Morningside University(May 2025 Graduation) | Business & Agriculture Honors Student | Interned at Amazon, Union Pacific Railroad, Morningside University | Seeking Post-Grad Opportunities
As I wrap up my summer internship as an Area Manager at Amazon's ORF2, I want to reflect on the experiences and lessons I've gained. A huge thank you to my manager,Ksenia, for welcoming me into the Quality team and empowering me to "Learn and Be Curious", "Dive Deep" and take “Ownership,” some of Amazon's core leadership principles. Over the past 10 weeks, I focused on reducing kickouts and inventory errors, creating and implementing a process that achieved a 67% reduction. One key takeaway was embracing the mindset that "Every day is Day 1." This taught me the importance of focusing on what is within my control- attitude, reactions, and next steps- in both management and life. Additionally, I embraced the idea that "I don’t know what I don’t know." This mindset encouraged me to stay curious, seek to understand, and always look at the bigger picture. I'm grateful to everyone I met this summer who helped me understand the broader impact of my work and provided valuable mentorship and advice as I grow in my professional journey. #ORF2 #AmazonIntern #SummerIntern Amazon

So recently we have been hearing a lot of great feedback that "your product is soo intuitive, or it makes a lot of sense on how to use, etc." There is a secret behind it. Obviously, we have a great team here at Ziplyne working hard on listening to our customers and partners...but there is another layer I introduced 5 years ago and it has helped us keep up to date and forward thinking. I bring on about 3-5 high school interns each summer/winter to go through our product from scratch. Without any previous training, no knowledge of a DAP, and have them try to figure it out. I do give them access to our knowledge articles and existing documentation. This exercise helps us as a team understand the gaps that we have and as a business leader it is really easy to miss the blindspots that you are not aware of. Why do I do this? Because even though we are building a product for current workforce generations to use, I also believe that in order to future-proof your product, you need to invest in the future workforce and take that feedback seriously. So this Thanksgiving, I am grateful and thankful for all the parents of these interns who let their teenagers join our startup and think differently instead of sending them to sign up for traditional corporate internships. More to explain about this shift in mindset later. But for now, just grateful and appreciative. 🙏

Today, a review, a request, and an attention-grabbing photo that has little-to-nothing to do with the review or request. A recent Amazon review of Intern Management: Principles for Designing an Exceptional Internship excerpt: "This book is filled with so many gems and key takeaways (helpfully listed at the end of each chapter to return to!) that I think it applies not just to internships, but to any manager-employee or mentor-student relationship. This book is fundamentally about the privilege of leading the next generation, and how everyone can benefit from it with the right thought and attention." The request: If you are a parent of a student who just completed an internship, how would you like to share with me your experience as a parent of an intern? The supportive work we are doing for managers is going to be replicated for parents. Please DM me if you are interested in furthering our efforts. Thank you. Thirdly, the photo: Here's a shark at the entrance of the wonderful Dream Hotel in Nashville. It has nothing to do with internships, Amazon reviews, parent requests or anything else. I just had to make my LinkedIn post more eye catching somehow... What do you think? #internships #innovation #management
