Regional Vice President | Person of the Year AAMD 2024 Let’s turn every property into a success story! 🚀
The individuals you encounter on your journey often wield a profound influence, and Mike was undoubtedly one of those impactful connections! While making an impact may be innate for some, it's a skill that can be cultivated. Here are key points to enhance your ability to leave a lasting impression: 1. **Active Listening:** Demonstrate genuine interest by actively listening to others, nodding, and responding thoughtfully. 2. **Positive Body Language:** Use open and confident body language to convey approachability and sincerity. 3. **Authenticity:** Be yourself and let your true personality shine, as authenticity often leaves a lasting impression. 4. **Express Empathy:** Show understanding and empathy toward others' experiences and perspectives. 5. **Confidence (Not Arrogance):** Display confidence in your abilities without coming across as arrogant. Humility is key. 6. **Mindful Communication:** Choose your words carefully, speak clearly, and be mindful of the impact your words can have on others. 7. **Offer Help:** Extend a helping hand or offer assistance when appropriate. Acts of kindness leave a positive impression. 8. **Memorability:** Share interesting anecdotes or unique aspects about yourself that make you memorable in a positive way. 9. **Sense of Humor:** Appropriately use humor to lighten the mood and create a more relaxed atmosphere. 10. **Respectful Curiosity:** Show genuine curiosity about others, asking thoughtful questions and showing respect for their experiences and opinions.
For work, I traveled 28 times this year. Looking back on photos, I should have taken way more! The last trip of the year, a team gathering in Dallas, was an absolute highlight of FY23. Grateful for the memories and opportunities that were presented and created in 2023. What was the best work trip you took this year?

Life really is a journey for everyone. Each person's path is distinct, marked by different challenges, opportunities, and relationships. This individuality is what makes life rich and varied, offering a tapestry of stories that highlight the diverse nature of human existence. Being grateful for what we have is crucial in this journey because it fosters a positive mindset and helps us focus on the good aspects of our lives, no matter how small they may seem. Gratitude can also act as a buffer against life's inevitable difficulties, providing us with the resilience to cope with adversity. When we express gratitude, we acknowledge that life, despite its ups and downs, offers us many gifts. This recognition can lead to greater contentment and fulfillment. It reminds us that our journey, while unique, is also interconnected with the journeys of others, creating a sense of community and shared human experience. In essence, while life is an individual journey for everyone, gratitude serves as a universal connector, enriching our personal experiences and fostering a deeper appreciation for the world and people around us. It reminds us to cherish the present, value our individuality, and recognize the beauty in our unique paths.

A mom, or mother, is a female parent who typically plays a significant role in the upbringing and nurturing of her children. The responsibilities of a mom often include providing physical care, emotional support, and guidance to ensure the well-being and development of her children. __________________________________________________________ The concept of motherhood varies widely across different cultures and societies, but universally, mothers are often seen as primary caregivers and central figures in family life. Their roles can encompass various aspects such as: Physical Care: Ensuring the child is fed, clothed, and healthy. Emotional Support: Providing love, comfort, and security. Education: Teaching children social norms, values, and skills. Guidance: Helping children navigate life's challenges and make decisions. Motherhood is also a deeply personal and emotional experience, shaping the lives of both the mother and her children. The bond between a mother and her child is typically profound, influencing the child's development and the mother's sense of identity and fulfillment.

Reposting this inspiring message from Jeff Henderson about providing meaningful employment and fostering a supportive community. If you share this vision and have a passion for running, consider opening a Fleet Feet franchise. It's a unique opportunity to combine your love of running with owning your own business, providing meaningful employment, and becoming a community leader. Let's talk about Fleet Feet franchise opportunities and how you can make a difference in your community. Let's Go. #FleetFeet #FranchiseOpportunity #Entrepreneurship
Providing meaningful employment for 100+ incredible individuals. It’s a big part of my why. What makes this crew so special is how they step up to support each other, to support our community, and selfishly… me. When life throws a curveball that forces you to take a step back make sure you’ve surrounded yourself with exceptional people. From my amazingly strong and fierce wife, to this crew I wouldn’t choose to do this thing called life with anyone else.

Today sees the start of a new season. After 30 years in Brisbane and 12 years with RPS, we have moved from Brisbane to Yeppoon. Three things I’ve learnt as a result of the decision to start something new: 1. Just because a decision makes you sad, that doesn’t mean it’s the wrong decision. 2. Every new season in your life demands a new version of you. 3. No matter what, be grateful for today. Good days will give you happiness. Bad days give you experience. The worst day gives you a lesson. The best day gives you a memory.

For many of us today is the first working day after the holidays . Over the weekend we wished family and friends a Happy New Year 🎆 Secretly we probably all hope that the New Year will be good to us and will bring us luck. 🍀 But hoping for luck is maybe exactly what is hindering us from living the life we desire. It usually doesn’t happen and is probably the cause why so many people I know don’t like the New Year’s celebrations. 😖 In Germany we have a saying: “We are all the Blacksmith of our own Happiness”. It is not handed over to us by other people or the Universe. The first questions 🙋🏻♀️ I am asking myself over the weekend are: 🔹What has made me really feel content and happy last year? 🔹What was it, which gave me satisfying lasting happy memories (not fleeting short term ones)? 🔹 What can I actively do to build more of it in to my life? Let’s work on becoming the Blacksmith of our own destiny.

I don't think it's black and white like choose family or choose career. I think it might be in a situation where you choose career for a little while to build up your skills and knowledge and put yourself and your family in position to be financially stable, then scale back a bit on that front to spend more time with family and friends. And sometimes you may need to scale back on career and other things to take care of family members. It's not always a perfect balance. Sometimes, you have to push hard in one area, but don't let the pendulum swing too much to one side for extended periods of time. For a short while, it's ok to drive hard in one area and re-find balance as soon as possible. Balance doesn't mean exactly 50/50, balance looks different for each person.
When you get all the money you were chasing. When you get the fancy job you fought hard for. When you get everything you worked years to obtain. You'll realize that those things never fully bring you joy. Your family is what brings that. If you don't make them a priority on your way to the top you'll find yourself celebrating alone - and that's the loneliest place to be.
