Co founder-CEO Azalea. C.I.O. Charity.- supporting all impacted by sex trafficking, Modern Day slavery.
The outreach Azalea does is about meeting women where they are, especially those trapped by circumstances beyond their control. Many women we encounter in outreach aren’t allowed to come to Azalea because of their perpetrators, or they believe the violence they experience is normal. Through our acts of support, like giving out homemade cakes, we gently remind them that they have choices, and that their worth is far greater than what they’ve been told. We believe wholeheartedly in their value, their future and their destiny. Through outreach, we also engage with sex buyers, who need to be gently reminded that they have choices as well. For everyone we meet, we offer non-judgmental support and a path towards knowing their better selves. #OutreachSupport #EndSexTrafficking #SupportWithoutJudgment #EmpowermentThroughCare #CommunityAction #HopeForChange

Everyone deserves to be respected, loved and supported to be themselves. This means supporting everyone to identify and express their gender and sexuality in ways that make them happy. We all deserve to feel safe and protected at home. But for some of us, home is not always a safe place. People use a wide range of abusive behaviours to maintain power and control in relationships, and for LGBTIQA+ folks, this violence may target their gender identity or sexuality. For LGBTIQA+ people, family violence is driven by social ideas that exclude and stigmatise LGBTIQA+ people and normalise the violence they experience. We need to work together to change the rigid and binary ideas about sexuality and gender that drive family and gender-based violence. No matter what form it takes, family violence is never acceptable. Learn more on our website areyousafeathome.org.au: https://lnkd.in/ge7GJyKY

Every person belongs. Nonviolence asks that we stand up for the well-being of all. We know violence isn’t just physical. It can also take the form of social violence or cultural violence (such as sexism and homophobia) and the ways people are discriminated against because of their sexuality or gender. Nonviolence means creating a culture that accepts and embraces people as they are. It means cultivating attitudes of inclusion and welcoming. It means seeking to understand and appreciate instead of judge and shame. Nonviolence also requires us to actively support movements to deconstruct the systemic and structural barriers to equality and equity, including wage disparities, discriminatory health policies, legal obstructions to marriage and equal rights, and much more. A nonviolent world is one where every person feels like they belong. #peaceforall #prideofsheba #campaign #nonviolence #action

💖 Today is #PinkShirtDay, also known as Anti-Bullying Day. Consider wearing pink today to support combating all forms of bullying in schools, workplaces, at home and online. Statistics Canada shared that sexually and gender diverse youth have been the target of bullying in the previous year—increasing to 77%, a higher percentage than that of cisgender youth who are attracted exclusively to a different gender (69%). We remain committed to combating all forms of hate, and continue working towards a future where girls, women and gender diverse individuals can thrive. OCVJC has spent the last TEN weeks discussing equity within victim services. We have discussed race as it interacts with gender and identify. We covered gender expression and sexual orientation. We highlighted different oppressed groups, including the Latine and AAPI communities. We worked to understand how indignity and colonization and religious radicalization can have criminal legal system implications. Just last week we highlighted how survivors with disabilities have increased barriers to justice and healing. So now, THIS FRIDAY, please join OCVJC and Ra’Shya Ghee for our last session of the Equity in Victim Services Panel Webinar Series to discuss integrating equity sensibilities into operations!! #VictimsRights #VictimsRightsMovement #MarsysLaw #MarsysLawforOhio #MarsysLawforAll #Survivor #Healing #CrimeVictim #Ohio #WeBelieveYou #YouAreNotAlone #Equity #OCVJC #EquityinVictimServices

🟣 Today is the International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia, and Transphobia 🏳️🌈🏳️⚧️ Standing in solidarity with 2S-LGBTQIA+ people is crucial. According to Stats Can, 59% of LGB+ individuals have been physically or sexually assaulted at least once since the age of 15, and nearly half of transgender individuals have reported being sexually assaulted. These alarming statistics highlight the urgent need for change and the importance of creating safe spaces for everyone. At the Sexual Assault Support Centre of Waterloo Region, we are dedicated to providing support, education, and advocacy for 2S-LGBTQIA+ survivors of sexual violence. Join us in fighting against discrimination and violence. Speak out, educate yourself and others, and support 2S-LGBTQIA+ organizations like SPECTRUM Waterloo Region's Rainbow Community Space that are making a difference locally. Together, we can build a more inclusive and safer community for everyone. #IDAHOBIT2024 #EndViolence #SupportSurvivors #2SLGBTQIA #SASCWR

It’s Valentine’s Day, the perfect evening for a romcom🎥🍿💘 But there are still EU countries where same sex couples can’t get married🏳️🌈 Last week, the European Parliament voted on the EU LGBTIQ+ equality strategy. The report notes a concerning increase in hate crimes, hate speech and violence against LGBTIQ+ people, and the rise of far-right political forces. 🤝 61% of LGBTIQ+ people have regularly avoided holding hands with their partner in public. 🏠 LGBTIQ+ persons are disproportionately affected by homelessness 💜 1 in 10 LGBTIQ+ people in the EU have experienced physical or sexual assault in the MEPs are also in agreement that more funding is needed to stamp out discrimination, and the European Commission has been called upon to draft the next LGBTIQ+ Equality Strategy, to take us up to 2030. #LGBTIQ #Pride #Valentines
