🛌 3 steps to improve your sleep to be more productive One of the most effective productivity tips I’ve discovered is the undeniable impact of quality sleep. Here are a few strategies that have significantly improved my sleep which helped boosted my productivity: 1. 🍽 Dinner: Eating dinner approximately 3-4 hours before bedtime has been a game-changer for me. This simple adjustment will help your body digest food properly before sleep, leading to better rest and eliminate sleepiness the next day. 2. 🕖 Understanding Your Circadian Rhythm: Identifying and aligning your schedule with your circadian rhythm will make a world of difference. Knowing when you're naturally more alert and when you need rest allows you to optimize your day for peak performance. Here’s how you can do it: - Track your energy levels throughout the day to identify your natural peaks and dips. And also identify your natural waking time and when you naturally feel sleepy. This will help you set your bedtime and waking time. N.B: remember to use the tips in this post before you go to bed to eliminate any external factor that will prevent you from knowing your natural bedtime. - Adjust your schedule to tackle demanding tasks during high-energy periods and recover during low-energy times. It might be taking a nap, a short 10 minute walk, or taking a shower all of which helps you to recover and rest. 3. 📱 Screens: we all know that its tempting to use our phones in bed but the blue lights coming from the screen will reduce the production of melatonin (a sleep hormone) which will make it harder for us to fall a sleep and ruin the quality of our sleep. Though turning on the blue light filter reduce our exposure its better off to not use our phones or any electronic device atleast 1 hour before bed. These changes will not only improve your sleep but also your overall productivity and well-being. Remember, productivity isn’t just about working harder; it’s about working smarter and listening to your body.
