The groundbreaking of the Jeddah Logistics Park has special significance for us at DP World. The Jeddah Islamic Port was our first concession in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and our first outside of the UAE in 1999. Our SAR 900 million project, a testament to our strong partnership with Saudi Ports Authority (Mawani) and ongoing commitment to Saudi Vision 2030, will revolutionise the Kingdom's integrated logistics landscape. When complete, the new Jeddah Logistics Park will be the largest integrated facility ever connected to the port, with an expansive 185,000 square-metre warehouse suitable for businesses of all types. And at the South Container Terminal, its capacity will handle over five million containers, supporting growing trade demands. 📢 Maersk Saudi Arabia has entered a 3-year agreement with Saudi Railway Company (SAR), marking a significant milestone in container transportation from Dammam to Riyadh🎯 Last week, Bashar AlMalik, CEO of SAR, and Mohammad Shihab, Managing Director for Maersk in Saudi Arabia, officially solidified this dynamic partnership. Together, our goals are clear: 🚄 Enhance the speed and safety of cargo transportation along this vital national trade route for our valued customers. 🔗 Demonstrate the benefits of our integrated approach by seamlessly combining ocean, inland, and customs clearance services. 🌱 Reinforce our dedication to local sustainability efforts by reducing truck congestion on the roads. Drawing upon our decade-long collaboration with SAR, we can swiftly allocate higher capacity and reliable solutions for trade movements affected by the Red Sea situation. In 2023, Maersk allocated an impressive 16,000 TEU on the SAR rail connection, comprising a remarkable 55% of Maersk's overall inland transport volume in this corridor.
