Teacher absenteeism is a major challenge. Illinois has been a leader in collecting and reporting data on the number of teachers missing 10 or more days of school. But are the figures accurate? Some districts are unable to confirm the numbers they have submitted. The districts tagged below reported that 99 or 100 percent of their teachers met the state's attendance target (i.e. missing fewer than 10 days) last year. It would be worthwhile for them to double-check their data. If correct, they are positive outliers. The state average is 64.4. If there are any issues with the figures, we should update them so the public (and district leaders) have the right information.
