The Network of Latin American Cities for Sports and Development (Red D+D), led by UNESCO, celebrates the International Month of Physical Activation and Sports with the collaboration of ACES America. The Consortium of Cities, which come together to develop sports policies, for an increasingly active, cohesive and inclusive citizenship, wishes to celebrate with an intense month-long program for the two International Days that the United Nations dedicates to Sports, to Health and Peace (April 6-7). This annual event, in its First Edition, wants to establish itself as a great opportunity to promote the importance of physical exercise and sports in our communities, as well as to encourage citizen participation in healthy and fun activities. The results and participation within the D+D Network are extraordinary: 19 Cities | States involved (including 7 National Capitals). 10 Countries (Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Peru, Uruguay). 277 Events (various sports) registered. An extraordinary success, an ideal prologue for the 2nd Edition of the American Week of Sports of ACES America (23-30 September): together with Red de Ciudades Deporte y Desarrollo en América Latina and with the slogan #ActivateAmerica! - https://lnkd.in/dBK63GyH

🌐 The Power of Global Connection in Local Excellence 🌐 This week, the air was electric with inspiration as EF International Language Schools' managers from across the UK and Ireland convened. In a vibrant melting pot of ideas and experiences, we came together with a shared purpose: to elevate the way we empower each other and our students! Our gathering was more than a meeting of minds; it was a celebration of cultural diversity, pedagogic innovation, and managerial expertise. We delved into the fabric of our successes, unwinding the threads of our achievements to weave a tapestry of best practices. Each story of success was a beacon, each account of challenge, a lighthouse guiding us away from potential reefs. I am Portuguese, from a land of navigators. Through storms and the unknown we changed the world and made it global 😊! EF is all about changing the world while living the language. In the heart of this collaboration, we discovered that our collective wisdom is our greatest teacher. As managers, we are the catalysts of our students' aspirations, and when we learn from each other, we magnify the impact of our efforts. I left our meeting inspired, reminded that when we unite in our quest for improvement, the boundaries of what we can achieve expand infinitely. Let's continue to share, grow, and lead in education, transforming every challenge into a stepping stone for success. #EFLife #GlobalEducation #LeadershipDevelopment #ContinuousLearning #EducationManagement #EF #LivingTheLanguage #StudentObssessed #WeAreEF

A bridge between Western and West African cultures: Arsenal co-designed its 2025 third kit with Labrum London. 🤌🏻 What According to Footyheadlines, Arsenal F.C will release an Africa-inspired third jersey co-designed with Labrum London, a British African heritage apparel "telling the untold story” of West African culture to help bridge the gap with the Western one. 🤔 Why The partnership empowers the connection between the club and fans with African routes, enhancing empathy with an important fan base. Moreover, it's also an homage to former players David Rocastle and Ian Wright. 💡 Key takeaway: Africa represents one of the most passionate areas for the Londoner club: 28 official clubs around the region, compared to the 100 of all EU. This is how brands must consolidate their relationship with the audience: what’s your opinion? (Pic Source: Footyheadlines)

With the Paris 2024 Summer Olympics fast approaching, it's time for some reflection on the legacy of our own Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games, and how well the new and improved facilities now serve the community... Living in Smethwick, part of Sandwell Council, I'm very lucky to live close to Sandwell Leisure Trust's new aquatics centre. However, I was keen to investigate how convenient access is to the site for those without a car. I'm planning to create more short public transport investigations like this with PTV Lines, so let me know in the comments if you have a case study that you're keen for me to investigate! Examples could include: 1) Service re-routing in response to maintenance work 2) Scenario comparison for route choice and optioneering along a corridor 3) Catchment area analysis for socially necessary service identification in need of subsidised funding, or supporting local authorities with BSIP applications 4) Test accessibility to healthcare and education POIs from new housing developments to gauge service requirements

Thoroughly enjoyed attending the Sporting Heritage Conference today, uniting two career paths I've had - sport development and heritage. This free event provided new insight and information, opportunities for learning, and a revived sense of place and purpose within the heritage sector. Key takeaways "Can you be what you can't see?" Amazin Le Thi - the importance of representation and identity within sporting heritage - finding your story, so others can see themselves too. "Everyone learns in different ways" - Mike Huggins - highlighting the importance of this, to move away from the obsession with text and look into other different methods of learning. "Anything from the past that is important to you and that you want to share with the future" - new criteria and simpler processes for applying for National Lottery Heritage Funds. "The importance of sport and community in the creation of our sense of self" - Amina Abu Shahba - working in heritage you are a conduit to make sure community stories have a platform.
