When you picture an engineer, your first thought may not be of a woman. That's why today, in celebration of International Women in Engineering Day, we recognize women engineers across the world. Our very own Head of Sustainability, Eryn Thomas Devola, began her career as an engineer. Throughout her career, she has used those skills to foster conversation and drive change in how our business impacts the environment. If you know an amazing woman in engineering and want to recognize her, drop a comment below! ⬇️ #INWED24 #EnhancedByEngineering #WomenInEngineering

We need women at all levels, including the top, to change the dynamic, reshape the conversation, to make sure women’s voices are heard and heeded, not overlooked and ignored. 💪👩🔬🔝 ― Sheryl Sandberg In my more than two decades of experience, I've seen the evolution of the industry and the growing, yet still insufficient, representation of women. This isn't just about filling quotas; it's about recognizing the unique value and innovative approaches women bring to the table. We're not just #engineers; we're creators, thinkers, and problem solvers, collectively driving progress. 🚀🧠💡 As we celebrate the achievements and progress made, let's also acknowledge the work ahead. Let's strive for a future where gender diversity in #leadership is the norm, not the exception. A future where the next generation of women in STEM/STEAM can see themselves reflected in every level of their field. 🌍👩💼🔬 Together, we can create a more inclusive, dynamic, and innovative engineering landscape. Let's continue to lift each other up and pave the way for a more diverse and equitable industry. 🤝🌈🏗️ #DiversityInEngineering #WomenInSTEM #Leadership #PumpEngineering #EmpoweringWomenInIndustry Empowering Women in Industry

This week we celebrate women! We kick off with Women in Construction week, and finish off on Friday with International Women's Day. I was honoured to be a small part of another important event dedicated to women - the Annual Women in Trades Symposium where high school students from over 20 schools from York Catholic and Public Schools in Ontario gathered to explore opportunities in the skilled trades, with a focus on non-traditional trades for women. As a female who works primarily in male dominated industries, I am sometimes faced with the challenge of the imbalance - I have found myself in situations where I've been too intimidated to say what's on my mind, absolutely. However more often than not, the sense I get from the work I do within industries where female representation is on the rise, is an appreciation for the unique perspective and energy that women bring with them wherever they go. The world of work can be challenging. Venturing out on the path less travelled can present even more challenges - events like this are instrumental in introducing youth, especially women to career paths they may have never considered before. Has there ever been a better time to explore a career in skilled trades? Let's not wait for a special week to do something or say something - the little things matter - to lift up our women at work! #womeninconstructionweek #iwd2024 #womenintrades #skilledtrades #stepupyoursafety #psychologicalsafety #womenatwork #constructionindustry

Sometimes life doesn't go exactly how you planned, but it always has a funny way of working itself out how it was meant to be. I am very excited to share that I had the opportunity to redesign the original Women IN Energy logo and will be building a new brand guide for our organization moving forward! This challenge was a blast, and I've loved getting to flex some of my old skillsets from college. Despite not working "professionally" within my actual field of study (Graphic Design), I still find ways every day to use what I learned through my program at Indiana University Bloomington. Art degrees can often be the butt of jokes, but let me share some incredible skills I took away from mine! 🎨 I know how to listen to a customer's needs and translate them into tangible work. 🎨 I learned how to collaborate with large teams to design an end product. 🎨 I had multiple opportunities to LEAD teams through a creative vision. 🎨 I know how to GIVE and RECEIVE constructive criticism effectively, and how to use that feedback to pivot when needed. 🎨 I approach every challenge thinking outside the box to find the best solution. It is never too late for a career pivot when you learn new things about yourself - BUT you can still lean on your previous experiences even though you changed course! There is always a way to apply your lessons learned to future endeavors, and sometimes those unique paths make you a stronger candidate in the end. #graphicdesign #creativity #womenINenergy #careerchange
