This past week, many association leaders and influencers gathered at the 2024 ASAE Annual Meeting & Expo in Cleveland, Ohio. What we learned from ASAE's public policy team left many of us angry and perturbed. Congressional leaders - fueled by think tanks - think it's time to go after nonprofits' tax-exempt status. We must defend the industry - no matter who captures Congress and the White House; associations aren't to blame for the nation's debt. We serve the nation and the world on shoe-string budgets. https://lnkd.in/gnxxDcud

Historically, work in Black and brown communities hasn't received the same recognition, funding, or access to funding opportunities as work done by predominantly white organizations and institutions. This can lead organizations to expect that they won't receive funding, and to even pass up grant opportunities. Getting Grant Ready is an online resource built from years of building capacity directly with community leaders, especially Black and brown leaders, across the country. Now, we need your help to share this with leaders who are doing the work. Getting Grant Ready: - Helps grassroots organizations assess if a grant opportunity fits their needs - Builds capacity for organizations to effectively apply for and potentially secure grants - Provides guidance to enhance grant proposals to be clear, concise, and mission-aligned - Demystifies the grant writing process, making it more accessible to grassroots organizations Years of work to get organizations grant ready — with a deep racial equity lens — is now available for free at https://lnkd.in/gJr_GiKa Who do you know that would benefit from this? Get the word out. And get your organization grant ready!

Helping Nonprofit Organizations and Leaders build a thriving nonprofit that generates the resources it needs to fulfill it's mission and move toward achieving the vision. | Dynamic Public Speaker & Group Facilitator.
Looking forward to presenting my most recent thoughts on the Top 10 essential elements for nonprofits. The more nonprofits and nonprofit leaders I work with the more I discover that there biggest challenges come from not being clear on these 10 things. If you don't live in Southern Maryland and can't make the conference and would like my free handout that expands on these 10 to help you measure your organization's foundation (the key to avoid so many issues), comment "foundation" below and I will send it to you after the conference. It will help you understand where some things might be out of balance in your #nonprofitorganization and causing challenges for you! If your are a #nonprofit leader, what would your Top 10 be? Please share in the comments and I will post mine after the conference. #Nonprofitleaders #nonprofits
During our conference, Tom Brush, CEO of Advancement Designs, will lead a session about the top 10 essentials that nonprofits need to thrive. Learn more about our featured sessions: https://lnkd.in/e4bP8ass
