Maitrayana Charity Foundation’s Post

Did you know that sports not only bring joy and excitement but also foster independence, leadership, and a sense of agency in girls and women? It's a journey of self-discovery and empowerment that transcends the boundaries of the field. The number of girls dropping out of sports early into their adolescence is alarmingly higher than boys all over the world. According to a 2022 survey by Women in Sports, the fear of being judged (68%), lack of confidence (61%), pressures of schoolwork (47%), and feeling unsafe outside (43%) were some of the reasons girls stopped playing. At Maitrayana, safety in sports is at the center of all our interventions. We firmly believe in the transformative power of sports to inspire players to work as a team and imbibe a one for all and all for one attitude. The Young People's Initiative (YPI) has been at the forefront, empowering thousands of girls and young women through sports. Now, we're on a mission to make sports accessible to all women, breaking down barriers and creating a level playing field, and celebrate all women in sport. Exciting plans are in motion, and we want YOU to be a part of this celebration of girls in sports! 🎉 Are you ready to join us in breaking barriers and championing inclusivity in sports? Stay tuned for more updates! Together, let's pave the way for a future where every woman has the opportunity to thrive in sports. 💫 .
