Have you heard about this initiative from B Local Bay Area, the Climate Justice Action Journey? I recently downloaded the Climate Justice Toolkit so I can learn more about the intersectionality of racial justice and climate change. Taking this step to educate myself and sharing these resources with our team is just the first baby step of our commitment to integrating impactful climate justice practices into our business. I encourage anyone else with an interest in this space to start with this download too. What I know so far is that the intersectionality of climate change and racial justice underscores the disproportionate impact of environmental degradation on marginalized communities. Addressing both challenges necessitates inclusive and equitable solutions to foster a sustainable future that benefits all members of society. Businesses can play a pivotal role by adopting sustainable practices, promoting diversity and inclusion within their workforce and supply chains, and actively supporting initiatives that address climate change and advance racial justice in the communities they serve.     "On the surface, these women appear to have “arrived.” They’re role models, company leaders, and pillars of their communities. But as we delved deeper, many of them, particularly women of color, are in crisis, struggling to live up to the demands of the ideal worker and within the constraints of a workplace not designed with them in mind. Trying to do it all and be it all leaves these women with debilitating health issues, disproportionate workloads, and pressure to perform at all costs."

    Sometimes business sucks... like really fucking sucks. I don’t care how Instagram portrays the lifestyle of entrepreneurship or how incredible people on here make it seem. Trust me, operating a real business is one of the most challenging things an individual can choose to do. We try hard to make everything work. But sometimes it doesn't. It sucks when we fail. But we get up, dust off, learn the lesson, and move forward. We do the hard work. Whoever wrote that first famous Nike ad (the one before the really famous one, lol) nailed it with, "After all, There is no finish line." If you really want to run a company, you have to keep doing the hard work. Chop wood. Carry water. Every day. Get up and get to work, even on the days it really sucks. It’s not glamorous, and it’s not always fun, but it’s real. #itsaboutpeople
