Guard your inboxes friends, tomorrow is #givingtuesday. If you consider yourself a generous person or strategic philanthropist, I'm curious to know... Do you find Giving Tuesday motivating or annoying? On one hand, it's great that we have a day that encourages generosity. On the other hand... charities tend to bombard donors with asks, pleas, "matching" opportunities and other quick-hit fundraising tactics like a swarm of seagulls on a cheeto. Has it gone too far? Are we treating donors as an unfortunate yet necessary means to an end rather than mission partners? Is the fundraising desperation actually discouraging donors instead of encouraging them, particularly among skeptical next-gen donors? How effectively are the dollars used that are raised on Giving Tuesday, anyways? I have my thoughts, but I'd love to know yours on #givingtuesday.

Giving back to the community goes beyond donating money. Then what does it mean? 👉 It’s about lifting those around you. Donating money to NGOs isn’t wrong. Let’s be honest, there is no foolproof way to track if the donated money helps those in need. 👉 My approach to giving back to the community is to help the people I interact with daily. 👉 As an entrepreneur, I create opportunities to support my employees. I anticipate their needs and offer genuine support. Whether it’s my house help or the security guard they make my life easier and safer. 👉 Giving opportunities, and donating food, clothes, and essential items to them is the true meaning of charity for me. This approach helps me in building strong bonds with those around me and it ensures my contributions are reaching those in immediate need. This entire talk is great if you have not listened to it. Whether you work for/with nonprofits, support nonprofits, or any other sector. Great questions and points to make for funders who raise questions about "overhead." "So in the for-profit sector, the more value you produce, the more money you can make. But we don't like nonprofits to use money to incentivize people to produce more in social service. We have a visceral reaction to the idea that anyone would make very much money helping other people. Interestingly, we don't have a visceral reaction to the notion that people would make a lot of money not helping other people."
