When we founded Rubrik, I knew our core premise was unorthodox. Our big thinking - in addition to the daunting odds startups face in the first place - made for a challenging beginning. But we had faith in our plan to transform companies’ traditional data backup and recovery process into a new category focused on securing data, the most critical asset of every organization. With this idea as our guide, we forged ahead with a sense of motivation and excitement. We had no time or room for fear. Ultimately, we knew our approach was viable when one of our first clients got hit with a ransomware attack - one of the first ever recorded, in fact. We were able to successfully support the organization in recovering from the attack, and got their services booted back up quickly. 10 years later, I’m proud of every single team member and every single client who has made this company possible. With their help, our unorthodox strategy stuck, and continues to enact real change across the cybersecurity industry. So what’s next for Rubrik? To start, we’ll keep taking our own advice by refusing to attach limits on our potential. I believe there’s no ceiling in terms of what we can become. I’m eager to continue helping organizations deal with unprecedented volume, variability, and velocity of data as they build up their resilience against inevitable cyberattacks. When we founded Rubrik, I wanted to build an iconic company - and that’s exactly what we’re doing. For us, there is no finish line.
