MALENY DAIRIES MISSES OUT ON METRO NORTH HEALTH AND HOSPITAL SERVICES CONTRACT AGAIN We are deeply disappointed by the outcome of our submission for the Metro North Health and Hospital Services (MNHHS) contract. We originally contacted the government in May 2023 to enquire about the current Dairy contract that was due to be renewed in February 2024. It was subsequently postponed to July 2024, and only yesterday we were notified that our submission was unsuccessful. While we understand that not securing every contract is a part of business, our main concern throughout this period has been with the procurement process and its timeline. The delays in releasing the MNHHS Request For Quote, and the extended wait for a decision, have created considerable uncertainty, affecting our ability to plan and allocate resources effectively, notwithstanding the financial investment. This drawn-out process has redirected our time and resources away from other opportunities, and we expected a more efficient approach given the government’s renewed Buy Queensland Policy. A recent report from Business Chamber Queensland reveals that 39.4% of Queensland businesses have significant concerns about government procurement, with only 4% finding it easy to engage with the government. We can certainly sympathise with them. We can only hope future government tenders will have more streamlined and timely decision making processes to avoid other SME’s suffering a similar impact. As they say, there’s no use in crying over spilt milk - at least we can rely on our loyal retailers who have been fantastic supporters of our Queensland owned brand for the past 24 years. #QueenslandDairy #SupportLocal #MalenyDairies

Overall, we were awarded with three champion awards and seven medals, including two Gold and five Silver. MALENY DAIRIES employee Nicole Dray makes a career out of eliminating hazards, and it is this eye for dispelling trouble she has taken overseas to British Columbia, Canada. Nicole, Maleny Dairies' Training, Workplace Health and Safety and Human Resources Advisor, has been deployed to the British Columbia province in Canada to support firefighting operations. It is a nod to Nicole's dedication as a volunteer firefighter, having been bravely involved since 2019 combating numerous fires, including the 2019 Black Summer Fires. Her commitment has also involved a recent deployment to Cairns in 2023. The good news has earned the praise of Maleny Dairies Chief People & Safety Officer Jason Wales. "I am thrilled to announce Nicole has been selected for deployment to Canada to support the firefighting operations!" he said. "Nicole has been a dedicated firefighter... and beyond her frontline efforts, she has also been an inspiring mentor in the Girls on Fire Program, encouraging young women to pursue careers in firefighting." Jason said Nicole was an embodiment of Maleny Dairies' passion for supporting community activities and volunteers. "At Maleny Dairies, we encourage all our staff to participate in and support community activities or volunteer where possible," he said. "We have a long history of supporting the local community and will continue to provide support where we can.
